Fll Competition Heats Up

While it is not in direct competition with most of the US announced flights, it will surely keep the fares low along with the yields, which won't make US or DL very much money. I am still waiting for AA to make the big move. I guess time will tell. Just my thoughts..........

To the management of the board:

I think you're being overzealous moving topics around. This thread is much more significant to the US board as a discussion of retaliation/competition than it is to the DAL board as a couple of new flights.

I agree. I had a thread moved last week about DL cutting flights out of DCA, as a result of US now leasing the slots, and possibly because US had chased DL out of the market. I think that was plenty appropriate for the US board.

Look guys, can’t you see past the end of your noise. For the past 15 years Delta’s success has resulted form taking ole Piedmont passengers from US Airways in RIC, ORF, CHS, RDU, GSO, DCA, LGA the heart of the old Piedmont system. Piedmont built and a great airline centered on offering the best service out of the mid-Atlantic. This is the same ole strategy from Delta. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that they have chosen to counter US Airways announcement by adding new no-stop FLL service out of these cities in December. Until US Airways reinstates superior service from these cities the company will continue to die. Delta certainly realizes it!

And why the heII is this on the Delta board?????????

Given the variety of markets, DL's action is obviously targeted at more than one carrier. I don't think US carries much if anything in Pensacola and BHM to S. Florida. In some of the mid-Atlantic cities, DL and US split the traffic today so this will certainly pull some traffic away from US. With the most RJs, Delta is in a position to pop a few wherever necessary to pick off and develop key markets.
