I want to fly to MIA on April 23 considering its spring break I figured I would use the employee option of a positive space AA 20. I checked Jet Blue and the fare is 99 dollars. So I figure an AA 20 would be 60 or 70 dollars which I would pay. I went to the ticket counter today and they tell me it is 97 dollars. What is the point of giving us a discount when I can fly another carrier for the same money and better service. Another slap in the face by AA
I will be flying Jet Blue on the 23rd and I will also pay the extra 32 dollars to park in FLL for the 4 Days.
I would rather give the money to jet blue Thanks AA another satisfied employee.

Go ahead and fly Jetbleu. I'm sure AA will manage to fill the seat for a helluva lot more than $97.

Fly on Jet Blue? Well, they are Scare Bus A/C which are overhauled in El Salvador. Being they are fairly new, might be ok for right now. The fact that it's spring break, positive space would be nice. Plus the fact you won't be fighting for first class with AArrogant management bone-us queens. 😉

And our passengers won't have to deal with your attitude.
I suppose we need to know our place in society and be happy in our work. Anything else would be considered disgruntled and having a bad attitude.
Having worked international flights I cant't believe why anyone would fly AA with some (not all) those nasty Queen Bee hags that pass as flight attendants. Want attitude, look no further. But I suppose thats OK. Same with the pilots. Pilots are not disgruntled, they're justifiably indignant. Right?

I never flew JetBlue. But the entertainment options are a better value for the customer. Airbus' are more comfortable to fly in than an MD80/737/757. Plus they are quieter. Plus they paint their aircraft, not the 1950's tin cup look. The tin cup look was outdated before I was even born in 1965. I know less weight/ no paint equals better mileage, but would you buy a car that way? I didn't think so.

I'd fly AA over JetBlue for this reason(s). AA I have ALWAYS had great service with, gave me upgrades plenty of times, even when I didn't request them. I personally would care less about onboard entertainment, but when you travel with a child, it helps make the trip go faster. There is 1 beef I have with AA, its their paint job, I would love to see a new scheme. Even WN paints theirs, they went from Baby poop to Barney (PURPLE) Blue, neither are a sight to look at. Well Good Luck AA Employees in 2007 and Beyond. Thanks for the AWESOME service.

Dont think so FM
Go to AA.com
Fares are 110 dollars and I bet people would rather fly Jet Blue for 99
Including AA employees

FM is right, genius.

AA will likely oversell the flight, collecting a few Full Fare coach fares right before the flight and then hand some dollar-off vouchers to the riff-raff who paid AA $110 this week. Not all of those vouchers will ever be redeemed, meaning AA wins. Wins Large.

JetBlue, on the other hand, won't oversell its flight, according to Neeleman, preventing it from collecting those several Full Fare coach fares.

TFC,

FYI...

JetBlue does not fly MIA-JFK or JFK-MIA. So, fly JB to FLL and then drive to MIA. The gas you spend for the drive with make your trip cost more on JB!! 😉

Who cares. JB does it their way and makes a profit. AA does it their way and it is a profitable flight.

No one needs his $99. But TFC does need to make an issue of it! Why, because AA does nothing right or does nothing not to screw their employees.

You're kidding right? AA is "screwing" you because you are only getting to pay a couple dollars less than you would on Jet Blue? To top it off you are going to pay $32 dollars more for parking. Then there's the extra gas you will use. Sounds kind of dumb. It also sounds like another case of someone finding an "injustice' when there really is none.

Here's another thing you might want to think about. Maybe one of the reasons Jetblue can offer those cheap fares is all they "saved" by sending their planes to El Salvador for heavy checks. Don't know if they still do that or not but it really doesn’t matter now does it?

While there were thousands of unemployed A&P mechanics out there JBLU was sending their aircraft to another country. At the same time you were complaining till you were blue in the face about how our profession was getting shafted by greedy companies. All I can say is how ironic.

Huh????? Sorry, you lost me.

Trust me, AA's going to get two or three times more for that ticket closer into departure time than Jetbloo will. They may have $100 fares listed on the website, but they're smart enough to also keep enough of the $300 to $500 seats available for last minute business travelers like me.

Huh????? Sorry, you lost me.

Simple.

A TWU member bemoan the offshoring of maintenance, yet doesn't think twice about giving his money to a company that offshored its maintenance.

Does it get any more hypocritical than that?

The closest I could think of is a laid off GM or Ford employee going out and buying a new Kia or Scion instead of a US manufactured car, or a laid off textile worker buying all their clothes at Walmart...

The UAW used to trash foreign cars found in the employee parking lots at the assembly plants. Not sure if they still do that anymore... but at least they knew enough to realize who the real threat to their jobs was.
