Before Abraham, and even after, the judaic/israelite people worshiped Baal and a host of others.

Allah/YahwehGod are still all the same god to the three Abrahamic religions, so you do worship Allah.

Again, if a few million Muslims or a few thousand IS fighters are able to convert ~300 million US christians, then that it would appear to be the god's will, wouldn't it?

Who am I or you to argue with that?

Are Catholics Christian?

The Gay Christian Network

Our Mission
Guided by the light and love of Christ, The Gay Christian Network (GCN) is transforming attitudes toward LGBT people across denominations and cultures. We equip churches, educate lay people, build supportive communities, influence key thought leaders, foster self-acceptance, and advocate on behalf of the marginalized and oppressed. Together, we are creating a world where the next generation of LGBT youth will grow up fully loved and embraced by their families, churches, and neighbors; and where Christians worldwide will live up to their calling as instruments of grace and defenders of the outcasts.

I grew up Catholic and I was not considered to be a Christian by "those who knew".  It turns out...there are two Jesus Christ.  The "real" Jesus Christ is the one who is your personal lord and savior.  The Jesus guy that the Catholics worship is just some guy named Jesus who was the son of Joseph and Mary Christ.

"Christ" isn't a surname but a title, derived from Greek "Christós" meaning "the anointed" or the Messiah.  Same thing with Buddha, which means "the awakened one"; today Christ and Buddha are essentially synonymous with the most famous of humans who were given those titles.  Sort of like "The Colonel" with KFC.  There are many colonels, but only one The Colonel.

Are Catholics Christian?

The average, and overwhelming majority of, American Christian(s) of the modern born again Evangelical persuasion know so little about their religion's origins and history that they can't even begin to answer the question.

If they dare ask, they are ignored.

If they ask again, they are warned that they are treading on The Adversary's turf.

Seriously, if The God is so inconsequential that It is afraid of or angered by His Children asking questions, isn't it about time for a new god?

Ask the next couple dozen christians you see where the binle came from and who chose which gospels would be included and which would not be and why, just for laughs.

I understand that.  As a former Catholic, I can tell you that my mom, her mom, and HER mom all followed this same Christ that the Fundamentalists do.  But....for some reason, the Fundamentalists do not consider Catholics to be Christian.   Which is why said that the Jesus we follow  must have just had the surname....he wasn't THE one.

It's not like you can change unions... 😛

I thought Christianity was a generic term for lack of a better word, which encompassed all the various secs such as Presbyterian, Lutheran .... etc. All Babtist are Christians but not all Christians are Babtists?

There ya go thinkin agin

To most christians, another christian is only really a real christian if they agree completely with their particular sect's intrepretation

Think Sunni vs Shiite...

once again you don't know what you're talking about. I am christian know plenty from different denominations and know no one who feels that way.

You may be the exception, and I said most, not all.

I spent 50 years "experiencing" christian churches, bible studies, parochial schools, and the whole package, in several different areas of the country.

I have no reason to make that up or to exaggerate.

It is what I saw

I do. Even today, I have a guy on another board who touts being a good Christian (while hurling personal insults at other posters....WWJD) who has the gall to tell me that my mother will never see Jesus because she was never "born again" and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal lord and savior.

Reminds me of a joke....a man died and went to the pearly gates.  St Peter greeted him and asked him his religion.  The man said he was Jewish.  St Peter said "go down that hall to door #5, but be very quirt passing door #3.   Next up was a Catholic.  St Peter said "go down the hall to door #9, but be very quiet passing door #3"  Next up was a Muslim.  St Peter said "go down the hall to door #12, but be very quiet when passing door #3".  Before leaving, the man said "I have heard you tell the others and myself to be quiet when passing door #3...may I ask why this is?".  St Peter replied "That's where they Baptists are, and they think they are the only ones up here.

The thing is, they do think that.

Then there is the crowd that believes that only 144,000 of them get to go, and of course they are all included in that number, even though there are more of them than that.

And the bunch running around baptizing their ancestors

And the bunch that don't know if Catholics are Christians, or that the Eastern Church is actually the original, or that Paul was always a jew and never professed to be anything else, or that there are a whole bunch of gospels that got left out of the approved reading list, or why.

Ad infinitum...
