Once again you leave out all the facts.
Mail and freight were contracted out in 1992 when you were non-union.
You worked under one regular contract and you can't get everything back in a first agreement.
Then two bankruptcies and three rounds of concessions.
And you forget CO last year imposed concessions on its non-union employees.
700, look, the dude asked a question I answered and I don't think he wanted me to go into some long historical story.
Why do you feel you have to defend the IAM when people ask a honest question?
And to be sure, who in the hell wants to be union if they can work for a company that 'imposes' wages that are 20% greater than what the union can get?
Let's see, this is union and this is how much union makes $15.60. This is non-union, and this is the 'imposed' non-union wage..$19.45....any questions? ANd also deduct another .30 cents an hour for dues for the union man.
Puh leeessse!
And before you remind me, I can hear you now defending how the IAM is not responsible for the industry worst of worst because US AIRWAYS went into bankruptcy twice, 911 happened, other airlines went bankrupt, Bush is president, workers are apathetic and don't care, Jerry Glass, management doesn't know what it's doing, and natural disasters in New Orleans, and Tsunomis in foreign lands. As you would say, the piss clam IAM is simply not responsible. If I missed any other reason why 700 sez the IAM is not responsible then someone please clue me in.
Regarding elementary debate principles and the IAM, let me suggest that you don't defend them by pointing out all the reasons why they have failed but rather point to something they have done that has been anything more worthy than 'piss clams' on a beach.
regards,
