that for this year we are 41% Hedged at 70-78 dollars.
That seems suprisingly good didn't think we had that much hedging goiing on.

Also Thursday was the best OPS day ever!
D0 76%
A14 92%
CF 99.9%
and LF over 80%

Great job to all of you in the field keep up the good work!

Are you sure we still have those hedges? I thought Doogie bought himself out of them when oil went back down below $50/barrel and it appeared his $70+ hedges were a huge mistake.

Back on topic .... does anyone have a link to look at 2008 fuel hedging?
It's just a snapshot in time - early April in this case - but try page 2 of the investor update:

Investor update 4/4/08

Note that this is mainlline hedging only. No mention is made of hedging for Express fuel, 20% of all fuel used, which is all paid for by mainline.

I must say that I am pleasantly surprised that Tempe has hedged as much fuel as they have. Now that oil is approaching 120 a barrel, 70-78 dollar oil doesn't look so bad. From the US Daily aprox 41% of our fuel is hedged between 70-78 a barrel. I am sure it is not as great or cheap as what WN has, but I have a feeling that we are better off than some of the other major airlines. Anyone have any idea how NW, AA, etc. are looking in this area?

It is not everyday that I say something good about management, but kudos to Dougwieser and Co. for having some common sense. I am sure our quarterly loss will be less than it could have been otherwise.

As much as a I hate saying something good about the Sandcastle, whoever is responsble for this hegding deal deserves someg kudos. How long are these hedges good for?

It's amazing how badly the industry predicted fuel prices. I'm sure someone has the numbers but were the BK exit stratgies of US/US/DL/NW based on crude being around USD 50-60/bbl for first several years afte BK exit. Now the talk is that we may see USD 125.

Looks like express is paying $.30-$.40 more per gal. than the mainline.
