When dealing with people such as the Islamic Extremists I feel in order for them to understand is to hit them in the head with a bigger and harder bat than the one they hit us in the head with. If they hit us once we hit them 10 times and repeat it 10 to 1 for each blow they inflict. If they listen then fine but if they don't then hopefully at some point in their 10 "whacks" they'll expire and we can move on to the next one. The problem has been we've had a bunch of spineless weenies dealing with them and after they got hit they tried to sit with them and discuss what anger problems they had as a child that would cause them to try to inflict pain on someone that loves them as much as the liberal left loves them.
You tend to lump folks in one bucket and paint them with a broad brush.
I don't love any religious extremists, and I consider myself since the election of George W. Bush a "left" as you call it... "liberal left".
I consider your views as extreme as "an eye for an eye"; and "turn the other cheek".
Its been 5 years since the US invasion of IRAQ, and now Afganastan. I don't see US citizens any safer than before 9/11; its that we are just more cognizant of the perils that could happen. That just doesn't make us safer in my mind.
I believe that when the entire Republican Admin. is gone in 2008, others around the world view will change.
And just maybe, the US can dialog with the world and they may decide to listen with support. There is no middle east country that wants to deal with the US on any level, unless they receive billions from us including IRAN, and N. Korea and IRAQ. As long as these countries can extort $$ from the American people to buy peace, they will consider it.
Not until the American people MAKE CHANGE IN VOVEMBER will htere be any kind of hope for the world to negotiate some kind of "peaceful existence". Unfortunately, all lot can happen between now and 2008.
