Well who won?
NWA.
AMFA should have seen the writing on the wall with what happened to all US carriers.
They failed to plan properly, they did not even have a strike fund, what kind of union does not have a strike fund?
Where did the millions and millions of dollars of dues go?
They could have done more damage still being at work, working by the book then on the outside looking in, NWA was well prepared and AMFA was not, plain and simple.
Good Point
That does not mean an AMFA membership at another airline, including if AMFA represented mechanics at AA would not take a different course of action and succeed.
It is not the AMFA that failed, it was the NWA AMFA Membership.
In fact, the AMFA idea of getting all mechanics in one union has not been tried yet, thus the idea has not failed.
I do know that having a dictatorship union like the TWU is not keeping the working man from slipping closer to poverty. Everytime this so-called union negotiates, the working man gives up something.
