Recently, FBI Director Robert Mueller, in an interview with NewsMax, confirmed Williams' main claim. Mueller said al-Qaida's paramount goal is clear: to detonate a nuclear device that would kill hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Mueller told NewsMax that at times, the threat feels so real he lies awake at night thinking about the prospect.

Williams maintains that al-Qaida is not content on blowing up one nuclear device or even simply a "dirty" nuke — but wants to explode real nuclear devices in seven U.S. cities simultaneously.

Williams says these cities are New York, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, Miami, Boston, Houston, and Los Angeles.

Mueller seems to confirm this claim of multiple attacks, saying both New York and Washington would be likely targets. Already Williams says the U.S. government has Washington webbed by "choke" points to detect nuclear material.

For many Americans the threat of al-Qaida's nuclear ambitions begins in the time after the horrific 9/11 attacks.

But as Williams shows so clearly, al-Qaida has been devising its nuclear plan since the early 1990s — and the U.S. government and other intelligence services have been well aware of al-Qaida's plan.

That makes alot of sense...much like the little mouse with the eagle bearing down upon him....flipping the eagle off in "the last great act of defiance".

Oh I have no doubt in my mind that such an attack is probably in the works, and your hunch about a response depends on who's in office is probably spot on as well. The biggest problem I see will be tracing where such a device came from once detonated. I don't think its likely to be delivered on the tip of an ICBM, more likely to find its way thru our porous borders to the south in the back of an 18 wheeler, enter thru our ports, or possibly constructed right under our noses!

I seem to remember very recently, a LOUD demand from the democrats, about inspecting EVERY container, before it "hits" the dock, be it in NY, Houston/miami/LA etc, etc.

Al-Qaeda May Use Mexico to Smuggle Nukes

Law officers on both sides of the borders are on edge as Mexico is named as the preferred al-Qaeda route to launch a WMD attack on the American homeland, according to a report in Time Magazine.

Two weeks ago a crop-duster aircraft was stolen south of San Diego by three men from southern Mexico who assaulted a watchman and then flew off in a southerly direction. The still missing plane can be used to disperse toxic substances and is just one episode that has captured the attention of officials.

Sharif al-Masri, an Egyptian who was captured in late August near Pakistan's border with Iran and Afghanistan, has told his interrogators that al-Qaeda has considered plans to "smuggle nuclear materials to Mexico, then operatives would carry material into the U.S," according to the Time report.
