That is so true.
I was there and lived thru it first hand on how Gordon came and started to build up Continental. Back then, it was a great place to work.
But he saw the writing was on the wall and gave the keys to Larry. Larry was the one who had to deal with the cuts that had to come down the line when every one else was filing for BK. He had to do the dirty work. But Larry wanted no part of the merger, but he himself knew it had to be done. 
 
This management is all about the dollars and threw Gordon's tried and true playbook out the window. Like going backward to the days of Lorenzo.....
