The stock market continues to TANK.

AIG wants MORE $$$ (for execs- ??)

Ford/Gm and Chrysler are threatening to go belly up.

And "OUR BOY-W" has 68 MORE days to be(as a documented historical FACT) at the HELM, and we ALL know that from W's "illustrious Career/legacy",...68 days IS dear friends ...an ETERNITY(for him).

This is (Almost) as funny(as timing goes), as the "economy BOMB" that landed on McCains campaign.

Bush is trying to go out with a bang for the Republican party platform. He's now pushing through regulations for enforcing the UIGEA (anti-online gambling act) from 2006. The Justice Dept hasn't been able to figure out how to implement this ridiculous law from day one but GWB thinks he's got it covered all of a sudden and can get it in before he leaves office. The Republicans are terrified that Obama might actually allow Americans to be able to do online what they can now do in hundreds of casinos across the country. You'd think he would be worrying about more important things.

We need the Obama youth program. They will keep a keen eye on all at home and on the street.Nothing will get by this new administration...nothing.

How come during the Clinton years the right bemoaned the results of "liberal policies" with kids who just weren't involved in anything...disrespect for adults....disrespect for property....loose sexual morals...but when a public service program is suggested, it is akin to "Hitler Youth"?

Well Bear...why don't you just state the obvious?

It was proven in the primary that holding Bill's hand on those overseas trips didn't quite qualify her on foreign policy experience....

I'd be very surprised if the Messiah placed a GOP member in that prized position,Bear.C'mon.

I will defend her NHBB's. She has quite a pedigree:

Born November 14, 1954 in Birmingham, Alabama, she earned her bachelor's degree in political science, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Denver in 1974 [at age 19]; her master's from the University of Notre Dame in 1975; and her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of International Studies at the University of Denver in 1981.

Dr. Condoleezza Rice became Secretary of State on January 26, 2005. Prior to this, she was the Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor, since January, 2001.

In June 1999, she completed a six year tenure as Stanford University 's Provost, during which she was the institution's chief budget and academic officer. As Provost she was responsible for a $1.5 billion annual budget and the academic program involving 1,400 faculty members and 14,000 students.

As professor of political science, Dr. Rice has been on the Stanford faculty since 1981 and has won two of the highest teaching honors -- the 1984 Walter J. Gores Award for Excellence in Teaching and the 1993 School of Humanities and Sciences Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching.

At Stanford, she was a member of the Center for International Security and Arms Control from 1981-1986 (currently the Center for International Security And Cooperation), a Senior Fellow of the Institute for International Studies, and a Fellow (by courtesy) of the Hoover Institution. Her books include Germany Unified and Europe Transformed (1995) with Philip Zelikow, The Gorbachev Era (1986) with Alexander Dallin, and Uncertain Allegiance: The Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak Army (1984). She also has written numerous articles on Soviet and East European foreign and defense policy, and has addressed audiences in settings ranging from the U.S. Ambassador's Residence in Moscow to the Commonwealth Club to the 1992 and 2000 Republican National Conventions.

From 1989 through March 1991, the period of German reunification and the final days of the Soviet Union, she served in the Bush Administration as Director, and then Senior Director, of Soviet and East European Affairs in the National Security Council, and a Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. In 1986, while an international affairs fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations, she served as Special Assistant to the Director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In 1997, she served on the Federal Advisory Committee on Gender -- Integrated Training in the Military.

If she is not qualified, nobody is. That does not mean that I always agree with her policies, but she is more than qualified. I would say she is far more qualified than Senator Clinton.

She also speaks Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and English. She is an accomplished concert pianist (a prodigy) who actually had a music scholarship.

What does 'Auntie' refer to?
Is that a racially tinged shot Bear?
As in Aunt Jemima?

Oh, for heaven's sake, Dude, that was 10 years ago! It's time to move on. Or, are you like the friend of mine who is still bent about the fact that Clinton (our age) could get if from a 20-something and my friend can't?

If I were going to dig up the past, I would be more inclined to focus on the spinning reasons du jour for the War in Iraq which has cost 1000's of American lives. Monica just made the rest of us jealous (if we are being truly honest). By the way, have you noticed that bin Laden is still on the run?

I didn't bring it up...
