This is sad in many ways.

This would be like Boeing workers fighting against composites and digital technologies.

The politicians in the coal state rural counties prey on the fear and ignorance of their constituents.

Shame on them for not telling the truth and helping them move forward as technology changes.

Coal mining used to be big in Southern Illinois. What hurt the industry there was the high sulfur content compared to coal mined out west.
