What's new

Here's The First 737!

Now Airtran can use its own metal for 6 hour flights all the way to San Juan, Cancun and California.

Looks okay. Not great, but not bad. Look forward to seeing them in LAS. I just wish they had winglets. Oh well. Just my thoughts...........

It's funny; in the pictures Boeing had on their website when the order was announced, the plane had winglets. I wonder what happened.

Aren't the winglets put on by a company in Vancouver, BC? On the airliners.net website they are talking about how the plane is not at BFI at the moment, maybe getting winglets added is where it is at.

Here is an article talking about Southwests and a paragraph talking in general about the 737-700 winglets:

"Previously offered as a standard option on 737-800s and Boeing Business Jets and as a retrofit on 737- 700s and 737-800s, advanced winglets now are available as standard options from Aviation Partners Boeing on 737-700s. "

Hmm... what happened to the cream base color? And, it accentuates the color combo it should downplay... the aqua and blue together. Not overly appealing.

It was at BFI this morning. BUt I couldn't tell from I-5 if there were winglets on it or not.

It should arrive in ATL around 1800 local , 06/10/04
and depart for MCO an hour later. And no winglets.

The new livery looks very similar to what was on the old -200's....blue bottom/ red stripe, etc. The white top will be a nice change, but I wonder why take on the expense of repainting the 717 fleet?

I believe nothing as the planes will only be repainted as they are required to per FAA madates. That is how many airlines phase in a new c/s, also why it takes a while to repaint a fleet.

I agree. It looks discombobulted. (If I might use a technical term.)

Although I didn't care fore the cream.
