Now official, Horizon Mechs voted in their new contract with AMFA. Good results with approx 75% of membership voting in favor of the new contract.
Congrats to all the Horizon employees for getting the new contract, as well as to AMFA and all nego's for getting this done.
Horizon is just one of 10 airlines and entities that AMFA represents the class and craft of the Mechanics only. AMFA is the number one leading Mechanics union representative out there as they are now at 10 airlines and in other countries as well. Love seeing the growth and expansion of AMFA throughout the industry as it was planned from the very get go.
Enjoy the new contract guys and gals;

Wow a whole 163 Mechanics. 🧰 Damn AMFA really is taking over the Industry. 😂

They've accomplished ALOT more in organizing new aircraft mechanics groups than your TWU.

And lets not forget, Horizon was once represented by the TWU.🤣

Ok you’re right. And the percentage who voted and voted yes was very good so I’ll say bravo 👏

Any movement at Spirit?

Yes they have TSH. They have more than doubled the amount of airline mechanics represented in the past 5 years, almost tripled it and probably soon will. Glad to see the AMFA momentum pick up greatly at all the airlines. Still in hopes Dell gets his final wish and represent them all soon.
Waiting on you guys at United to pull them in as well.
Ahhh yes, Horizon was represented by the twu before. Just shows the mechanics in the airline industry are getting sick and tired of the non-representational industrial unions out there with way too many "other" work groups all tied into a huge and overwhelming groups as one and all, with no focusing on the mechanics group.
Happy trails my friend... Hoping to be looking at early retirement soon. Maybe just a couple or few more years for me.

Great job Eric.

Perhaps.

The new techs United has brought on board these last few years, are a solid bunch. They possess a great set of base skills, and they're alot more engaged Union-wise than I would've initially guessed. Its definitely the youngsters here that are holding the ibt's feet to the fire in our current negotiations, and their chatter on the boards leave me little doubt, that should the teamsters fail to deliver, a change may indeed be in order.

However, like you, I'm in my last few years - this contract, be it teamsters or someone else, will probably be my last.

Good to hear about the newer guys coming into your airline. We were told by our upper VP's and hiring group that United stole a bunch of "in coming" mechanics at the Mechanics Maint Olympics last year where United came in and surprisingly offered a 40K signing bonus to anyone who would come to work for United as mechanics. Not sure of the rules and regs behind the 40K offer, but all the very good and talented ones went to United last year and some this year I believe. (Maybe you can enlighten on this issue)

Fantastic news about you being in your last few years, great to hear my friend. We are working on our retirement place currently and finalizing any health preventative check ups and issues before going out for good. Our contract comes up in 2027 with our last raise coming in Aug 2026 which I am hoping will be my last raise and my last contract year while working, as long as the plan goes as planned at this point.
Stay safe my friend, I wish you and yours the best of luck while working towards your retirement... 🙂

Don’t forget to get that mental checkup as well as the physical one. It’s been a long time since you had your screws tightened and I think you might have lost a few.

Probably smelled too much bung hole in his career there. Either that or he needs his rectum checked. In either case, the mental damage has been done.

Guess most of the dumb ones do come from Southwest.

cause most of the people in the industry know it sucks to work for Southwest. Labor aint cheap and no one likes to work for free. Southwest has a reputation of multiple lawsuits with labor. Plus who wants to destroy their bodies by the time they are middle aged, stuck on grave yard for 30+ years. That company sucks period. I've heard all the horror stories from former people.

And yes I'll disrespect an old timer like you if you come here. So stay over there and retire there. I'll give you the "dirty southwest" treatment. I'll end it quick for you if you lucky and make it in a week.

There was a older former Southwest dude who still had pride there, then we told him to shut his trap he aint working for that crappy company anymore. Guess he got the roasting that night. Then later on we found out she was a he.

Moral of the story... Dont work for Southwest, unless you are....

mentally unstable, want a real booty gaping, and can suck a lot of semen, and prepared to do a sex change on behalf of that place. Guess thats what happen to one dude, he had to cut off his penis cause its such a crap place to work. He got used to getting it in the rectum, kinda like that SWAMeCh dude.
