I'm really trying not to go postal here but no promises.
“The company said that his papers weren’t filled out in time, and that there was a problem between waiving the part-time/full-time clause - hey, all of that’s baloney
What an absolute crock of bovine fecal matter! The guy was good enough to serve his country, damn near get blown into oblivion but NOT apparently good enough to get his old job back at US Airways unless and until an enterprising Union Steward contacted a reporter. You can't beat the power of the media shining a light on things to make the rats scurry for cover.
“I will tell you that we were working on a resolution to this situation for a couple of weeks,” said Morgan Durrant, a US Airways spokesman based in Philadelphia. “But maybe your call helped speed things along.”
Yeah Morgan the call sped it along, YA THINK you freaking moron!
As sad & pathetic as this episode is, guys like Kirby don't see anything wrong with it. But boyo boyo let a tarmac rule from DOT impact them and the hand wringing and whining starts. Well Dougie & Scott here's a little lesson for ya, it's from the Bible, this guy Jesus said it about how we treat our fellow man.
"And the king will answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me"
See Dougie & Scotty there is a difference between attending church & actually attempting to live the lesson taught therein. It is my sincere wish that in heaven the last shall indeed be first. I'd pay to see Dougie & Scott shining shoes in an airport.
This stinks on ice. Just another reason to get a job that doesn't involve air travel. Just shows US Airways open contempt for Employees. You can serve your country, get blowed up, recover, go back to your old job and get bent over by the likes of US Labor Relations.
I wonder if US worked as hard to do right by this guy as there spin machine did when their CEO was caught driving drunk?
Priorities Gentlemen, Priorities! Get'em Right!
