"Dog, heres one thing that gripes me about this.

OBVIOUSLY,...there is a TON..of grief over 9/11, and you'll hear/see occasional reference to Oklahoma City.
BUT, unless it's INITIALLY brought up by Black people, it goes 'under the radar'.
How ANYTHING like this could 'go under the radar'....is beyond my comprehension.
Shiit, I saw MORE coverage today........about (Miss PIGGY)...PAULA DEEN making ANOTHER sobbing return to the airways, complete with that sickening southern DRAWL,..." Y' ALL " !!!

There are a lot of dates that go unrecognized. If it was not a national event and recent like 9/11 people are not going to remember it. I was in a break room a while ago and we were talking about something in history. And I mentioned something about 1964 (the guy is in his mid 20's and black) and he had no idea of the relevance. Most people would not be able to tell you the importance of Dec 7th, Aug 6th, 1920, 1964 .... and any other number of important years or dates.

People just don't care if it does not pertain to them in the here and now,.

So I'll toss you a couple of easy curveball questions.
1. As far back as 1860 (PRE Civil war) name the 5 ONLY states that allowed the Black Man to VOTE !

2. Name and Date of the state to outlaw SLAVERY ?

(and to THINK they're were STILL rigging elections in the south in 2012)

1. I'm confident that most everyone knows New Hampshire was one of 5 states that let their slaves vote in 1860. They were however, slaves! There were slaves in New Hampshire as far back as 1645 but it wasn't until December 1865 that New Hampshire freed them. 220 years of slavery in New Hampshire could possibly indicate that Bears family was slave owners. In fact, New Hampshire was one of the few colonies that did not impose a tariff on slaves and became a base for slaves to be imported into America then smuggled into other colonies.

A little closer look at slavery in the north, New Hampshire offered bounties to slaveholders who manumitted black recruits to fight their wars for them (in the south we call that being chicken sh!t).

2. Who really cares what states freed their slaves first?
