Hijackers raid Heathrow lorry
6 March 2003
Hijackers attempted to steal a lorry from Heathrow airport containing £7 million of computer micro-processors, police said today. The raid happened on Sunday when a gang in a BMW took over an American Airlines lorry.
After police chased the BMW and the lorry, the gang abandoned their haul and escaped. The owners of the computer equipment have offered a £30,000 reward to catch the gang.
from the London Evening Standard.

I guess the bigger question is, how secure is the Heathrow ramp area? Did these people just run up and take over a truck when they saw the container with what they wanted in it? Were they in AA uniforms?

Wasn't to long ago when we found out that the grease pit lunch wagon we all at in the morning down on the ramp, before the flight out. Was actually a front for a theft ring. Stealing from luggage and cargo, then hauling it out in the lunch wagon.
