Hiring Baggage Handlers

Hello,

I have noticed on Deltas' career website almost every day they are adding cities which they are hiring rampers for. I was wondering if anyone knows if DTW is going to make that list. I would definitely love getting my old job back at the airport. If anyone knows anything please let me know, thanks.

And I'm new to the forums so I'll be hanging out.

Dunno know about DTW, but I do know FNT has open spots right now, if that's something you might be interested in. They're on ebid.

Flint has openings before Detroit does? Wow I'm amazed. Flint is a bit of a hike for me considering I live literally right next door to DTW and could ride my bike to work if need be. I am hoping and praying DTW has some openings for ramp. Like almost every day there are ramp openings up in Chicago, Milwaukee and I think the recent one was in California but I'll have to check again.

And I'm sorry but what is ebid?

FNT is adding spots due to picking up all the DL connection work currently being performed by Regional Elite. My guess is that's why MDW & MKE are now on there as well.

Ebid is the DL version of our bid desk (or listings in ACCESS). Just an FYI, if you happen to be PMNW and are on layoff, SLIP leave, etc., make sure to get your paperwork in/make sure it's current, since they'll be filling spots in these cities from there as well.

Well actually, I'm not in the IAM. I was never a member. I didn't work for NW, I did ramp for another airline. So I would be starting fresh. I had always tried to get in with NW but never could but I stayed with the place I was at then lost my job. Thats when the recession hit, now I'm trying to get back into the airport hopefully with the major carrier which would now be Delta. But I still got it. I can drive a tug, beltloader, do lavs and water. Only thing I never got to do was pushback.

I looked again today and they added BWI to that list. The list is getting bigger but still no DTW. I'm crossing my fingers just hoping they have some openings.
