Am I just imagining it or were there seats available in the 20s and 30s today for travel from CLT to PBI? If it is true then I refuse to believe it.

Looking at the U load factor for this Thanksgiving week tells me it won't be long till the end. While American has reported 95% of available seats sold last Wed and this Sunday and Delta over 90%, U had 70 seats open for the 7 am CLT-PHL and 55 open for the 8:10 am CLT-PHL. Only one of the 10 flights all day was sold out as of last night. That would be a slow Sunday in June. Not the second busiest travel day of the yr.

I think the second BK and talk of CH7 along with all the recent press of possible strikes by various employee groups is spelling the end for U. -Cape

I have been traveling CLT-DCA-CLT every week now for a month and the flights I have been on have been full and oversold.

West Coast flights to the hubs run 85 to 95% full 7 days a week...everyday. Many days flights are bumping and we have to send psgrs. to UA or AA. No space here.

Consider who would frequent those flights. Early AM hub to hub are not going to full on a holiday weekend. They would be part of a double connect for most customers.

You are correct that talk of liquidation may be scaring some folks away. But, most people are blissfully ignorant of the specifics of US Airways current condition. They are becoming fairly immune to major airlines in bankruptcy. When they read the headline of the GECAS agreement and see the June 30, 2005 date to exit Ch 11, that is a positive comment by one of the nations largest lenders.

West coast flights have run 90% full for the 17 years I've been here, they keep dropping the number of seats on these routes (767-757-A321-A319) so no wonder. Don't take too much comfort in these loads. The last revenue US Airways flight will probably be a A321 LAX-PHL with 169 on board.

Dream on dude ! I personally watched the whole holiday leave PHL with not so full flts . GET A GRIP!!!

From the daily intracompany news:

"US Airways boasted load factors of 81.5 percent on Wednesday, and 81.4 percent and 88.5 percent for Saturday and Sunday, respectively."

Not bad, but not as good as one would expect for what's billed as the heavest travel days of the year.

Considering the negative pubicity I think those numbers are Stellar, Freaking stellar and from what I've heard very few issues that could be directly attributed to US Airways

You see...no sick out. Folks are angry and fed up...but they do their jobs quite well with professionalism and respect for the public who fly us.

This company couldn't be luckier to have the greatest employees in the Industry, inspite of the metal and emotional torture they put us through...we stay on top.

Hats off to my favorite people in this universe.

Nice job indeed 🙂. Particularly with the weather issues up and down the coast. I was expecting things to be much worse.
