REPUBLICANS....."DON'T WANT"........ Ex-AIG Chief to TESTIFY !!...???????????????????????????????

W and the GOP.

Talk about the "Goose(s) that KEEPS Laying GOLDEN EGGS"

"All kinds of things could happen depending on what we find. And we're looking," he said. "Our eyes are wide open. Wherever the road leads us, that's where we plan to go."

Sure you want this?

Wasn't it Franklin Raines who cooked the books for bonuses and Chris Dodd and Hussein Obama and Rahm who all got cushy interest rates and housing deals through Countrywide and Fannie/Freddie??

Wonder who had the two biggest campaign contributions from Fan?Fred??

Your blind zeal against the GOP ultimately will slander your own.

Bring it on Eddie Towns.....bring it on.

Then..delldude,...........Why doesn't the GRAND ol' (Boys) PARTY want mr. GREEN-BERG to testify ??

If one were to follow your line of thinking, it then runs Counter-productive to the thinking of the GRAND....ol' Boy's PARTY.

You've got me PERPLEXED dude !

Piney,

Political advantage to be sure !

ME, I want names.
I want BIG names.(Franklin Raines is a name. Franklin Raines is NOT a BIG name)

It just seems peculiar that the GOP is fighting, to keep GREENBERG from testifying.

For those Interested.............CSPAN-3, at 10:00 am..Today.

Hey, lets not lose sight of the fact, that our pal KARL ROVE is suited up, and awaiting the phone call from the dugout, to "trot on in to the mound", located in the US House Chamber 😱 🙄

I believe Mr Greenberg has sued AIG.......

There is no mention of GOP not wanting him to testify....you dream that up?

There is nothing anyone can do to prevent him from testifying...........

You think he;'s going to fall to his knee's and scream

"It was Bush...It was Bush?"

Bears all you will see on this thread is the why bother, GWB did his best and its all Obamas fault. They cannot accept GWB and the previous administration wa anything but perfect.

The BK process has worked for hundreds of years
I disagree with you there.

That process (in the airline industry) allowed the lousy airlines to drag down the good ones to their level rather than allowing them to go under and let the healthy survive.

I know that has been discussed ad nauseum on these boards, so I will not go into detail.

Funny..........isn't one post on here reflecting what you imply.

Agreed we don't need to beat that horse to death. But consider this. Suppose the government left US and HP to their own devices and not created the ATSB would not the remaining airlines have had less downward pressure on wages as a huge chunk of capacity would have been taken out of the system?

See the real reason for the wage issue facing legacy carriers is that one airline has in effect built a better mouse trap. WN's lower costs are NOT driven by low wages, they are driven by a superior business model and the Legacy carriers refuse to adopt the more efficient way of doing business for many reasons.

So in many ways the BK process sans government interference with free markets is the appropriate way to go. The problem with BK is that the government can't seem to keep it's bureaucratic bungling hands out of private enterprise which perverts the process and renders it unfair.
That is what I was inferring. Had there been no protracted bankruptcies, the allowing of pricing below cost, and zero government involvement in them, I, and many others, would be in a very different place right now.

We are definitely in agreement here.
