Shock! Big Dem Donor Group Allowed to Keep Their 6 Chrysler Dealerships Open ...Update: Their Local Competitors Eliminated!!

Now there's this...
RLJ-McLarty-Landers is owned by three men.
One was the former Chief of Staff for President Clinton.
One is the founder of Black Entertainment Television and a huge Obama supporter.
All 6 of their Chrysler dealerships will remain open.

Draw your own conclusion (absent of any facts of course). Sometimes people are blind to the obvious.

You talk about facts yet you present no facts to support the accusation that the closings are politically motivated. Care to post any evidence? Or are you just going to continue to cheery pick and post links to blogs?

Some people are so blinded by their animosity towards the President that they are willing believe just about anything.

Come again? Some people are so blinded by their unrequited love towards the President that they are willing believe just about anything, and apparently do.

Let see how far it goes with the MSM

Reuters: Plan to ax dealers not Chrysler's decision -lawyer

NEW YORK, May 26 (Reuters) - A lawyer for Chrysler dealers
facing closure as part of the automaker's bankruptcy
reorganization said on Tuesday he believes Chrysler executives
do not support a plan to eliminate a quarter of its retail
outlets.

Lawyer Leonard Bellavia, of Bellavia Gentile & Associates,
who represents some of the terminated dealers, said he deposed
Chrysler President Jim Press on Tuesday and came away with the
impression that Press did not support the plan.

"It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom
of terminating 25 percent of its dealers," Bellavia said. "It
really wasn't Chrysler's decision. They are under enormous
pressure from the President's automotive task force."

More cheery picking of information huh dapoes? How about Jim Click who owns dealerships in Tucson, AZ which includes Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships. None of them were closed yet he gave $273,575 to Republicans, not one single dime to Democrats.

Or how about Anchorage Chrysler Dodge Center who gave $111,750, all to Republicans. They are not on the list for closing.

Then there's Potamkin Automotive which gave 83% of its $94,900 to Democrats in 2006 election cycle. They are losing their Pontiac franchise in New York. If Saab is axed they will lose that one as well.

Rosenthal Automotive which gave 100% of their $67,550 to Republicans gets to keep their Chrysler and Dodge dealerships.

How is pointing out FACTS unrequited love towards the President?

Fact: The majority of money contributed by auto dealers goes to Republicans. Which means
that there's a good chance dealerships on the closing list will have given money
to Republicans by default. Just as there's a very good chance that those not being closed
will have given money to Republicans. Care to refute that dapoes?

Truth is that based on all of the information presented it makes a pretty good case that the time tested "Pay to Play" method of politics/business is alive and well and living at Chyrsler Corporation and 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The simple way to prevent "pay to play" is to severely curtail the role of government n our lives. Bring our troops homes from throughout the world unless the host country is willing to pay us the cost of having them there. Drop the insane war on drugs. Get rid of corporate welfare and the list goes on and on.

Keep the money in the hands of those who actually earned it often by the sweat of their brow.

If you shrink the pool of moeny available you automatically limit the amount of graft.

Yup just like this: Reid's Now OK With Detainees In U.S. Prisons after Obama throws him a $2,000,000 bone for his re-election.

I'll try to explain this again. The majority of the money auto dealers donate goes to Republicans. Therefore by default the chances are the ones being closed gave money to the GOP. Likewise the ones that remain open probably gave money to the GOP as well.

Congressman's Dealership On Chrysler List

Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., a businessman who has owned car dealerships since 1992, learned Thursday that his Venice, Fla., Dodge dealership was among those scheduled to be terminated.
"It's an outrage. It's not about me. I'm going to be fine," said Buchanan, the dealership's majority owner. "You're talking over 100,000 jobs. We're supposed to be in the business of creating jobs, not killing jobs."

And now Chrysler wants to open new franchises???

It just wont go away!

Dealergate: 40 Democrat-friendly Dealerships Become 42 After The Dust Settles; Their Competition Gutted As Well

That dealer that is supposedly "gaining" dealerships is simply seeking to purchase certain dealserships that are slated for closing. He would then move it to an existing dealership... so he is not really gaining another location, just gaining another customer line (such as Jeep) to sell at an existing dealership. Moreover, I find this odd that you are now complaining about someone wanting to personally purchase a dealership that is slated for closing. Earlier you were complaining because Chrysler wasn't using our tax dollars to keep open or compensate the owners of lousy dealerships. So, in other words, you have wanted tax dollars to be used to fund failing businesses, but don't want someone to purchase failing business with their own funds. It sounds like you are a socialist at heart, bud.

Huh?

Your a bit disillusioned that I was for the bailout to begin with...I was not.
