I Guess They Really Need The Money

I think the best leadership style is where the company leaders find new revenue streams rather than looking at labor for cuts. You can only cut back so much before the cost savings are nill. Charge the customer. Were in business to make money not give it all away for free.

They have done a pretty damn good job of keeping the vast majority of us employeed since the merger which is paramount to anything else.

Agreed! However at what price?

Are you the highest paid?

Best benefits?

Best Morale?

Some months ago I read in a business publication (I Think WSJ) US employees were paid on average compared to their peers 13% less. So I guess you have to ask yourself if you're willing to continue to offer your services at a 13% discount? In capitalism a discount is usually offered in exchange for something? Continued business or in this case job security. So if oil spikes to say $180/bbl is your job 13% more secure? Or the discount might be offered for improved working conditions? Does US treat you 13% better at work?

I know as a customer I'm not treated 13% better I'll tell you that. The above you have to answer individually.

UPNAWAY is either an idiot or out of touch with us working folks. We are fed up with the way we are working(short staffed) the way management treats us & the low wages we receive while the folks in Tempe roll in the money & drive drunk.

This whole thing is getting ready to backfire on them.

Pushing a plane back three feet doesnt show an ontime departure. The engines have to be running and wheels moving.
That is VERY Incorrect !
Maybe that was the Acars Programing when You left the Company Five years ago, but that is NOT how the Out Time is reported now.
It was Changed Over to the America West Logic, with ALL DOORS CLOSED and BRAKES RELEASED ! So from a Crew point of View, Board,Close it Up and let me sit.... I GET PAID !

Thanks!!! I knew I heard/read it someplace. Thank God there is no "Driving While Drinking Doug's Koolaide" or UPNAWAY would be doing a life sentence

Someone said that US has the best product. Well I flew CO's BF to LHR today and it blows Envoy out of the water. Not only does CO have a concierge that comes onto the Plane and greets each pax, but at the purser introduces himself and then at the end of the flight comes to each pax and asks if the service was good. That has NEVER happened to me on the new US. US 's premium Product continues to be behind the majors.

I was just on a CO 757 (international) and there were at least 5 fa's maybe 6. And a concierge was onboard during boarding to assist.

They even have iPod docking stations at the seats.

This why an airline NOT named US Airways got my business on a $1387.00 fare. Other carriers at minimum ACT like they want premium flyers. US wants that premium business too! The difference is they aren't willing to work to EARN it. So news flash Doug, you ain't getting it.

The other interesting thing is for under $100.00 I can upgrade to first. I'm not all that interested as it's a "Dark thirty" flight. I want to see the coach product on a 737-400 and a CRJ-900 and compare it to US. Now that I no longer reside in Fortress PHL I'm finding a whole new world of options. So far the carrier I like the best when you take out the FF program is Frontier. I'd like to stay in the Star Alliance due to my ability to use miles to go places overseas. Not all that impressed with DL, however I'm going to give them a long look.

My time as an Uber Loyal customer appears to be coming to an end. I will most assuredly miss all of the great front liners I've met and even befriended over the years. Oddly I'm finally taking their advice.

Have a great flight on your favorite airline..
BTW... some one will fill your seat quite nicely.

Fine by me! Did I remind you that you earn on average 13 percent LESS than your peers and someone will take YOUR job just as another will take my seat.

Now run along and fetch Doug & Scott another beer.

BTW, I don't own an iPod you have me confused with US1

That 13% percent has nothing to do with onboard offerings or features. No matter what On board amenities have never moved revenue one dime on any airline, it is all about the Hubs fare premiums and really nothing onboard (aside from horrible and unreliable service) matters, just ask Jet Blue.
