Im flying into HOU, but need to fly on Continental out of IAH, whats the cheapest way to do it?

Uh, problem! I used the trip planner just to see the result. It had me catch a bus near Hobby, transfer downtown, and end up on the West Loop just north of Westheimer! The destination was even labelled Intercontinental Airport.

I lived on FM1960 on the north edge of IAH for almost 30 years. Trust me. IAH ain't anywhere near the West Loop and Westheimer. The trip planner missed by about 30 miles.

I just checked it was bus 88 transfer at the central station then take the 102. But it takes 2 hrs. Super shuttle wants 45 dollars BS

well all odds were against me today. The metro bus that I needed doesnt run on sundays. The metro apparantly runs a scheduled service during the week for $15 but not on sundays. There must have been graduation and conventions in town, bcuz a single rental car cost 95 per day. So I took the supper shuttle which carried two more passengers and it took 1 hr to get to my hotel off of North Sam Houston Pkwy for $45. I have been traveling quiet a bit lately and am now a huge fan of mass transit, big cities need subway and light rail all throughout the cities, not just certain locations.

Too bad it's not 25 (or so) years ago. Back then you could've hopped on an Emerald Airlines DC-9-10 (done up in full CO 'meatball' colors) for a scheduled jet flight between the two airports!

I might have to do this same thing in reverse. Where did you hear about the $15 bus? I looked on the Metro website, but couldn't find any references to it.

I lived in Houston for 30 years, and if there is an airport to airport shuttle, it has been started within the past 5 years. Before hiring a cab or renting a car, I would invest the small cost of a long distance call to Metro to find out.

I know there is bus service to each airport, and it would require a change of busses downtown, but I don't know of a direct shuttle. By the way, almost all the streets downtown are one-way. A bus from IAH may come into downtown on Smith or Milam (one-way southbound), and the bus to Hobby (also southbound) would travel along the other street or even on Fannin or San Jacinto on the other side of Main Street. So, a walk of 2 to several blocks might be required to change busses unless you can catch one of the free downtown "trolley" busses. They are diesel busses in "trolley drag."
