This is just a typical response from a hard core, union guy!!!! CEO's/ upper level management of ALL corporations make that kind of money!! The BOD's control that......NOT the employees under their control. Average employees will NEVER control executive pay/benefits, NEVER!! Is this fair?....Do most people agree with the disparity in executive vs rank and file compensation?.......Hell No!!!...But, thats not the point of this thread. The point is, AGC/upper union officer pay. They supposedly REPRESENT their respective members.....Those members are getting CRUSHED in wages and benefits/losing employment, union membership declining in rapid numbers. Upper union officals getting that kind of pay??? Plaeeease!!! I now understand why the people entrenched in their positions at the local level try to cut anyones throat who tries to encroach on their turf!!! Delldude, ring a bell, or sound familiar?? Look at your local for the answer. D Tks, et al????, E. L?? The entrenched ones, and those that are "in the know" see the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!!!!! We have seen people run for office to oust the incumbents but the IAM contstution is set up to be as hard as possable to get new people in office. If you want to get into office you have to kiss alot of @#$ to become a "made" man in this union. Its run like some kind of mafia!
In the end its like this ,the IAM just wants you to shut the Hell up and just keep paying you ever increasing union dues!

The stockholders have more say in what the executives get than the members do in what the International officers get.
Comparing union officials to executives in such a way reveals the twisted business union nature of the organization.
Even from a purely busieness perspective it is entirely inappropriate for union officials to grant themselves raises when the union is failing in every possible measure. Members living standards are falling and membership has fallen by 25% between the last two Conventions. Why are these people being rewarded for destroying the union and screwing the membership?

The fact is that you are as much a part of the IAM as you are of USAIR, and you are just as disposable to one as the other. The company wants your labor and the IAM wants your dues, neither one really cares what you want.

The unions desperately fought not to have to provide more detailed LM-2s.
They were worried that their "enemies" would use the information against them. They are probably right but the enemies that they speak of are not who you might think they are. The enemies are their own members that believe in democracy and accountability.
If you want even more info request cpoies of IRS form 5500 from the DOL. This form shows you the nice pension plans that union officers have provided for themselves with your dues while telling you to accept concessions.
Between the LM-2s and the 5500s it all comes together why these unions will do anything to maintain the uninterupted flow of dues at any price to you, because its good for them!!! And as long as you remain in the IAM you cant do a damn thing about it, you cant vote these guys out of office and you cant stop paying dues.

no no no dude...people have come and they failed to win ...ask billy"purple haze"...i remember quite correctly he ccontested each time he ran and did succeed in getting a run off again and once again lost for the what,3rd time in a row??roadtrip said:

Gee.........why do some people have to have the retirees vote them in? The retirees have no business voting. But, then again none of the working slugs could get off their duff to come and change the by-law so let the bums reap what they sowed.
