Pretty amazing that TWU Local 514 would place a link to proof that the TWU is failing us.
Maybe there is hope for us afterall.

Do any of you worry about keeping your seniority should the IAM prevail? They don't exactly have a great track record at protecting the seniority of members.

Josh

Are you that uneducated?

Every merger the IAM has done has been dovetail seniority.

In the TWA case AA wouldnt buy TWA if the LPPs were still in place.

The AA/TWA seniority went to arbitration, and the arbiter ruled on it, the IAM defended their members, plain and simple.

Once again you post of things that you have no idea about.

Truly uneducated.

tha iam has protect seniority for us at US as far as I know and I was furloughed at one time and recalled kept my seniority

I read through some of the CBA for M&R this past Friday and it was not that impressive to me. I looked at scope, classifications, pay, overtime and some other areas of the agreement, holidays were a plus but that was pretty much it...

As in AA/TWA, the provisions of Allegheny Mohhawk would prevail.

A bit of a paycut, due to paying into IAM national pension. A bit is made up due to less in medical insurance payments and holidays and double time. There is no 401k match either.

And the TWU SCOPE clause just recently allowed Landing Gear, CFM-56 Engine Work, and Bioler Rooom work to be outsourced, not to mention the 757 Airframes to TIMCO. All but the 757 Airframe issue Arbitrated and Lost. Your current TWU Scope basically only requires AA to notify and discuss with the Union, no other restriction applies.

Once again, you fail to hold your precious TWU to the same standard you would hold others too.
Take the blinders off a check on the reality of your situation!

Also remember this, you are comparing a current consensual TWU agreement to an IAM agreement that twice went through Bankurptcy. Compare that IAM agreement to your current 1113 c ask that will soon be shoved down your throat and then get back with us on what you find then.

Can someone on AA TWU post a pdf of the secret agreement that USAirways signed with the TWU on your airline.... inquiring minds want to see from USAirways.... also the current CBA..... oh and a word of caution to all workers at AA Don't Trust CEO Parker he is a snake in the grass and will throw you under the bus in a heart beat.....

Thanks for any help

Would a x-twa guy tells us what union they prefer, the TWU or the IAM. I only know the TWU, it's like I only get kneed in the groin, I would like to try a punch in the face.

Since you to love to hammer away on me about the above outsourcing cases this is my opinion. I believe those cases gave us a better understanding of what we must do in future discussion with the company. I could think of many instances were we have both the manpower and facilities and equipment available to discourage the company from following through with outsourcing and taking their chances in arbitration through the current scope of our agreement. With a better, more prepared up front plan exposed to the company in the beginning they would think twice about sending the work out and for the Union coming up short and not covering all of the available options in these meetings makes it very hard to be successful at arbitration. Hopefully something has been learned from this because I believe there could have been a better outcome because I believe in our Scope.

Also if our scope is so bad as you say Informer why is the company so desperate to change it?

Its true I'm comparing our current TWU agreement to the IAM agreement, as well as the failed 2010 TA, but like you say compare it to the 1113c ask and some of what I saw mirrored what they want to shove down our throats....

Collect enough cards, and the union of our choice could be on the ballot.

Well on previous outsourced work you spelled it out for us.

Either the TWU Leadership has failed us, or the SCOPE Clause failed us.

Which is it?

In the future, we could get another Union also. But I thought we were discussing facts, not what could have been or might be.

AA is now less than 15 months away from another CFM-56 Crisis. You want to wager your lost Signing Bonus of what the outcome of that will be?
