Just happened to read the latest edition of the 142 Observer. I open it up and what is there....two pages dedicated to "Organizing El Salvador"!! To me this happens to be a slap in the face to any dues paying member!! Would love to know the reasoning behind this.....Many of us were affected and many will soon be by outsourcing!! Why is the IAM wasting time and resources? Will they find it OK to outsource work to Aeroman, and others if they become Union and they are able to collect dues? And they wonder why workers have so much distrust for the IAM

DUES

http://www.iamdl142.org/ It is in the Winter 2011-2012 Observer, typical though the website is not yet up to date...still showing Fall 2011....Keep checking and hopefully the site will be updated before the Summer issue rolls around...

Come on tech, what has changed?, you know the iAM updates their website annually (and omit what it wants).
Besides, gotta keep the "i" in iAM...
I actually was a newsletter guy for a brief time for our local.
I was not impressed then (1990ish?). I voted to give them the boot in 1999.

The IAMAW is the last union that I would ever have to misrepresent me.

Perhaps this why you feel as you do??

ROBERT BUFFENBARGER INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT $295,493.00
WARREN MART GENERAL SECRETARY-TREAS $278,965.00
LYNN TUCKER GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $271,959.00
GARY ALLEN GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $258,352.00
ROBERT MARTINEZ GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $255,056.00
ROBERT ROACH JR. GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $253,027.00
PHILIP GRUBER GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $252,607.00
DAVE RITCHIE GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $251,989.00
RICHARD MICHALSKI GENERAL VICE PRESIDENT $251,672.00
OWEN HERRNSTADT DIR INTERNATIONAL DEPT $245,651.00

As an outsider looking in this union appears to be nothing more than a dues grubbing organization whose only interest is to perpetuate its continued existence and act as a personal piggy bank for the leadership.

As you know tech it took an act of god to get rid of them after we voted their sorry asses out..

Im really starting to feel the same way about the IAM!! Nice to see they care so much about third world countries!! Last time we saw a group of AGC's at our station was when someone mentioned those dirty words....Teamsters or AMFA and that was a year or so ago..... Hopefully this will be the last straw for the IAM and this will start their exit off the property. Myself, after seeing where some of my dues monies are going have started gathering information about being a dues objector!!
