More and more are travelling with airplanes according to International Aviation Transport Association (IATA), with over 1.8 billion passengers to have travelled only in 2004. The aviation industry estimates that the annual international passenger growth will be 5.6% until 2009. However, serious challenges are ahead for the industry, as the fuel prices are increasing.
From the other hand, modern travellers search for convenience and connectivity but they are not willing to pay for the industry`s efforts to modernise and advance its systems.
These issues will concern the aviation community in the Aviation Summit, which will take palce in Singapore on 20 February 2006. Asia has chozen to accommodate the event as the continent is one of the most dynamic markets in aviation today.
