Iraq Collapsing

Street gangs/thugs are perfectly free to wander about as well. That fails to make anyone going about their business in the same neighborhood overly comfortable. If you had ever encountered a potentially enemy aircraft aloft that was playing "turf" games in such fashion, you would have a better understanding of that being an appropriate comparison here.  While eolesen's quite correct that submarines are a more direct threat; the point that Putin's making with this is that he has complete contempt for us at this point in time.

It's amazing how Americans will get their tits in a ringer over a pair of turboprop bombers flying off the coast.  Russia is ringed by US bases in Europe, Japan, South Korea, Turkey etc.  Wonder how they feel about that?

I'm sure that if you were to complain to a Russian about Bear bombers off California they would be more than happy to point out that that little fact I mentioned.

Johnny Mac wasn't worried about the hand held rifles that can trace their linage to muskets that shot him down in a F-4 Phantom.

John McCain flew A-4 Skyhawks and was shotdown by AAA.

That's o.k. Tree! You go and stick your head back in the sand! Obama is on the job! Not to worry! And E is correct, boomers are much easyer to deploy. ------ Oh, by the way Tree, have you checked your gas prices in the last couple days? Gone up have they? You don't think that has anything to do with what's going on in Iraq do you? ------ It's a shame because we have enough oil in this country to off set any loose over there.------- That's "if" obama would let us drill for it!----- So if Iraq falls, and there is more than a good chance it will, just as a small inconvenance, your gas prices will continue to rise. But than again, that's the least of things! Now it seems Iran may get involved. And this all could spill over into Saudi Arabia !--------  Better fill up your tank while you can still aford to!

What do you purpose then?  Send troops back into Iraq?  Don't think that's going to sit well with the American people.

When gas hit's $5.00 a gallon, the Libtards will start bitchin' wanting to know where their vouchers are, to help offset the increase!
That was supposed to happen before the last election.  Do you think a Communisss! like Obama is going to let the oil companies make a profit?

How much money and how many lives are you willing to risk for cheap gas?

So conservatives will be happy with $5 gas?

I think what most object to with the Bear flying simulated attack runs on a continuing basis is the fact that one of those days they just might let a salvo of Kh-55's go which would be way beyond range of any ground based interceptors, easily with a 1500 mile range to surface targets.

Repetition causes complacency.......I remember a flight of B-17's off Hawaii on one fine December day.

Aging turboprops that have variable pitch props which reports of western a/c having to use afterburner to keep up with them when the Bear is accelerating.

Ok on he A-4 but in an interview he related getting hit by extremely accurate ground fire after popping over a ridge and the subject was Charley using antiquated rifles compared to US M-16 types.

If we left Saddam alone, he would have taken care of it.
IMHO, the invasion of Iraq was a disaster. said it in the beginning, saying it now.
Iraq needed/needs a tyrannical despot to hold the masses in check.
It would have been much cheaper to throw Saddam a couple of billion to curb his actions.

Well, regardless, we started this mess, how we going to end it?

Yea, we both agree.----- What's Obama going to do? ------ Nothing!----- Maybe the Iranians will bale him out? ------ You think?

How do you think it should be ended?

I personally do not see an end.  Cant nuke the place as much as some here would like to.  First off, $5 gas would be a dream.  Drop a nuke in the ME and the sky would be the limit on gas price.  Not going to get the various tribes to play nice.  Put US troops there and we will just continue to bring home body bags.

So what is your version of an end game?

Same question.  What do you want him to do?  How many body bags are enough?

isis is a group that split from the FSA Free Syrian Army, they are the group that the leader of which cut the heart out of a soldier on the battle field and ate it, its also the group that John Mccain was "moved" by and wanted to arm in Syria.  FSA lightened up a bit to seem like moderates to get the weapons from the US right led by Mccain. As they "lightened" up groups like ISIS took that as a sign of weakness, and split, they are now fighting each other instead of Assad.  and because of that hes making strides, and because of that, ISIS had moved some of its ops to IRaq,that government is far weaker than Assad's topple it, then turn your attention to taking on Assad.  With the Americans gone whos going to stop them...

We started this, when we started this imbecilic war. Then we exasperated it by making red lines, then not doing anything when someone crossed it, then we made things even worse when mccain( a senator not an ambassador to rebel groups) goes and promises things he really cant promise...

left right "liberal" "conservative"  democrat republican(they are all progressives) obama bush... whitehouse congress...   it doesnt matter the blame is there for everyone..

you cant fix it, this is something that the iraqis are going to need to fight out on their own..
