JAL profit hit by weak yen

The carrier earned 166.25bn yen ($1.6bn; £950m) for the year to March, a 3.2% drop from the previous year.
JAL said its annual fuel bill had reached 283bn yen, which is about 25% of the carrier's operating costs.
The Japanese yen has lost about 25% of its value against the US dollar since late 2012

Validates the weakness that the US carriers have said they see in Asia.

fuel is a lot more than 25% of the expenses for US airlines just for perspective.

The Japanese market is seeing a growth in low cost carriers, some of which are from outside Japan, so the outlook is clouded there as well.
