I think what the article was trying to say was that when the EMB-190’s are put into service with JetBlue; they will look at serving markets similar like BDA and MYR. As for new cities that will be announced in the next 2 years, I think it’s safe to say that the following are on the list 7 of most likely (in no order):
1) BOS or MHT
2) RDU
3) Another Caribbean city (there are limitation because of the lack of any immigrations or FIS areas in T6. Possibly NAS)
4) SJC (red-eye)
5) PHX (red-eye)
6) Dallas or Houston
7) Chicago
Also look for changes in the LGB focus city. JetBlue currently operates the maximum amount of flights it can out of LGB, infact the reason why it had to cut service from ATL to LGB was because it was using a temporary slot from AS, which had to be given back. The short hops were only added to use the slots for the short term (they would have lost them otherwise) as JetBlue adds more of the cities listed above, they will replace short-haul flights like LGB to OAK and LGB to LAS with long-haul flights. Also look for expanded flying out of Oakland.
