JFK to Jamaica & 4 flights to Charlotte

Why don't you ask an average passenger what a CRJ-900 or EMB -190 is? Some know, most do not. The price is the decider for most and that is fact.

This US1 will chime in. I AVOID ALL CRJ's and ERJ's (except E170). I would rather connect in PHL, CLT or LGA than squeeze into a barbie or jungle jet.

And guess what? You may think price is a deciding factor....but guess what?! I checked out PIT to BOS nonstop route flying the RJ's. That priced out at $764.70 for the times I needed. Did another search that connected me via PHL and put me on the E-170 & A319 both ways. Only $468.40 for comparable flight departure times.

Guess which one I took?? It sure wasn't the RJ flights.

And your customers are getting wiser when it comes to the type of aircraft flown. Frequent and non frequent flyer types. B)

I wouldn't concern myself with JB. They have enough of their own problems!!
Ah yes - don't worry, be happy.

I think the point isn't whether you or I should be concerned or not. The point is that Parker is apparently concerned enough to add this service. After all, if B6 is harmless why waste block hours that could be better used elsewhere?

A lawn dart by any other name is still a lawn dart.

Elevation, the educated frequent flier would most certainly know what type of aircraft he is on, and in many cases, it is a deciding factor in choosing flights or airlines.

A lawn dart (CRJ) of any size is uncomfortable, with the jungle jet (EMB145) just a little better. The EMB170 and 190 series are very comfortable (only from 170 experience).

While there may be some FF's who don't know the difference, be aware that the overwhelming majority of us do!

That said, I just wish it was ISP-CLT instead of JFK!

You forgot that passengers can connect in CLT to get to JFK, one of the largest STAR Alliance gateways in the country. You can fill it with connections there alone. Jet Blue cannot. Also 700, most of your business traffic is going to LGA anyway.

US won't even have the E190s in any quantity until Q1 2007, so it's rather pointless to ask US to start up service with them in September, 2006. Hopefully the CRJ-900s are just a stop-gap until the E190s can be brought on-line. This stuff takes time.

The Average joe is who we are talking about, they will take the cheapest, that is a fact. The FF, sure they know the score but they are not as price sensitve, but more time sensitive than a leisure flyer.

Let's see....

Lowest fare - Jetblue (according to their and our press releases)
Bigger, more comfortable airplane - Jetblue
IFE - Jetblue

Sounds like you're admitting we can't compete with Jetblue on this route....

Jim

All those other cities JetBlue flies to such as BTV, BOS and RDU are all flown non-stop from CLT. People rather fly nonstop then connect in delay prone JFK as a connection even it means enjoy the 190.

US does not fly BTV-CLT. US serves BTV from PHL/DCA/LGA.

With the average joe we can't if those fairs are a lot cheaper (I don't know there fare structure). FF different story, thats were the money is at. BoeingBoy made it pretty clear who the favorite is going to be in this fight.

I talk to many customers every day have for over 28 years THEY DO CARE WHAT TYPE OF PLANE THEY ARE ON…

After they bought the ticket lol. If that was a true statement the RJ's would be empty which they are not.

The point is given a choice

the choice is when they look at the price, see the schedule and what kind of A/C is scheduled, then they hit the buy button. 😀 People say they care but when it comes down to it...money and time is more important, wake up john john.
