Airline seeked until June and was given June 23....

Isn't the HP-US merger the same as the POR? The only way the POR changes, at this point, is if someone else trumps HP's bid, or the deal somehow falls apart. Right?

Wondering if a better deal comes along, who's decision will it be on who to go with? Does US have to go with the highest bidder or does the judge decide? Also, if the HP/US liquidation deal doesn't happen because of a higher bid, does HP get the 15 million?

I beleive the judge decides, and he is supposed to go with the best deal for the creditors, not necessarily the best deal for the airline.

There has been some press on this subject, I know within the last fews days Doug Parker was featured saying he was confident the AWA bid would win out over any other...and that was from a comprehensive standpoint addressing creditors and all other interested parties.

I did see that CaptBud posted some speculation about Alaska becoming invovled too, not to scuttle but rather to join in on the merger.
