Justify Syria

Sorry, but 'no governing structure' seems to desribe pretty much any middle east country. How will us bombing the #### out of Syria help with a "transition of power". From what....Hezbollah to Al Qaeda? They are killing each other. Let them. And they already have lots of groups of people who do what they want - it's Islam after all...different sects hate the other sects enough to want to kill them.

The argument was that we hurt Assad and help out a frindly rebel faction. The biggest fear is that Syria turns intk a Somalia situation with war lords running different a areas and having access to chemical/advanced weapons. That arguably would be far worse than what we have now.

Not sure I argee but I think it is a sound argument.

We wack the 'bad' guys and the others left who take over will like us until the enemy of their enemy becomes their friend.

Remember, Obama says we only going to kill them for a short time.

You missed the boat.....the reb's are mostly Al Qeida leaners.......its another Brotherhood future venture ala WMD's

Looks like Boehner and Cantor are both on board as well. Looks like the republicans are going to own this with the democrats. Interesting turn of events.

I still think this will bite us in the ass.

Does this mean you are done spanking your monkey over Benghazi?
Dog, I believe you, Tree, KC, Quag and Barry-O are the only ones here, capable of spanking the monkey, with Hitlery on your mind !

Yep. There wss some support for Iraq. Why was that?

Yes Obama did screw up by drawing a line in the sand. Oh well. Biggests screw up? Hardly.

You are awafe how the UN security council works right?

Shift the blame? What planet are you from. This is Congress' s job. They have the autbority to declare war. The right was complaining that Obama would not consult Congress and now they are complaining that he is going to Congress. Geez. Make up your mind already.

I do agree that we have no business in Syria.....Egypt..... Libya.......Iraq.........Afghanistan.......

"Yes Obama did screw up by drawing a line in the sand. Oh well. Biggests screw up? Hardly."

Exactely what part of the above, did I not copmprehend ? You said BaRack's biggest screw up was not drawing a line in the sand, which I agree with, and then point out that, as history goes down in the books, BaRack-O-Care will go down as his biggest screw up !

Could you tell me which rebel faction you would call "friendly"? I can't think of any. Come to think of it, even our "friends"aren't paticularly friendly. If the Saudi's are worried, they need to take care of business. I don't think the US should be the one to take care of their business. At this point, I don't see the obliteration of the entire middle east to be all that negative.

I gave you a clue. What you wrote originally was not what you wrote above.

Either way I disagree that Obama is the worst president or that he has made decisions worse than any other president.

I wonder if Assad's 11 yr old was watching the hearing today. If he was I wonder if he told his dad that things might not be going quite as they planned. Boehner, McCain, Rubio and Cantor are all on board. Yea, I don't think Assad will be sleeping that well for the near future. I would not be surprised if Assad goes through some back channels to try and end this. If he does not my guess is his air force and communications will become charcoal briquettes in a few days.

And then, when his enemies see that, and see that the US did that, they will unify and say "he really wasn't that bad of a guy....now....jihad against the great satan" - and the guys trying to kill him today will be trying to see if they can bring down a couple more buildings here in the US later. Let the Saudi's take care of it. There is absolutely NO good if the US goes in. We have been hated, we are hated, and we will always be hated by those people.

But what about those people in your neighborhoods?

if they are going to attack, and it certainly seems likely. Then go after Assad himself, palace, government residents, personal residents wherever. The may not get him but they'd damn sure get his attention.

I agree but it would seem Congress does not share our view.
