It looks like AA will be getting smaller

We will not know that until we see what happens to those aircraft in the 1110b category. I think most if not all in the 1110c category were already parked in the desert.

The list doesn't appear to include owned aircraft, what few might still exist.

N*JETSA or N*NEW JETSA (I forget the name) used to have a current list of tail numbers by fleet & config. Not sure if it is still around or not.

I agree if add up all the MD 80 on the 1110A and 1110B
the numbers do not add up to the current numbers of
aorcrafts on the fleet.

The a and b lists include every 737, leased and owned plus every 777 on the property. Of the 763s, 25 of them don't show up on any of the three lists. There are 80 757s on the three lists, but that leaves 44 757s unaccounted for. One 762 lease ended in 2011 and two more end in 2012. The "maybe" list b includes 11 of the 15 762s, but that leaves one unaccounted for. I assume that all 15 762s are short-timers and will be retired quickly. The a and b lists contain 110 MD-80s with another 21 on the c list out of 224 MD-80s active as of 12/31/10, but I assume that some MD-80s were parked during 2011.

The three lists total 472 planes out of about 600, so there are about 128 not accounted for on these three lists.

AA ended up keeping 4 of the 11 757s on which it filed lease rejections earlier this month; leases rejections on the other 7 were approved by the court today:

Basing anything on 1110 filiings is risky, but nothing in the reporter's background says whether he has any bankruptcy expertise or experience - just lots of years being a reporter. In every 1110 filing there is language saying that AA reserves all it's rights to reject planes under section 365 of the bankruptcy law. So while 1110 filings may give a hint about the preferences of AA, if any of those lessors/lenders don't want to play ball they'll be left holding the airplane.

757 - 118
762 - 14
763 - 57
777 - 47
MD-80 - 201

Thanks, Mark. Looks like another piece of kludgy automation I wrote ten years ago is still in use...
