A lav truck t-boned a van on tug rd behind B-14 trapping 3 people in the van. First report was that the girl driving the van is in very bad shape, two medics worked on her in the ambulance while CFD drove them...The driver of the lav truck said he was only going 25 mph...still to fast gor the ramp, I believe he was a contract worker, both vehicles were pretty banged up. Should be on local NBC news, Chopper 6 was hovering midfield for about 25 minutes...Good luck to all those involved and injured.

SHE is an employee of Jetstream the vendor who cleans and services US Airways' Planes in CLT.

Holy Crap! If I were the girl, I'd be pi$$ed.

I heard a rumor that 700 was eating his lunch in the lav truck as he was driving. That caused him to be distracted.

Frankly I bet if someone was sitting on the airplane that was being blocked by the van they wouldn't be asking if she was going to be ok. He would be ranting about something else.

The article says that the injuries were not life threatening, thank god for that.

I wonder if they can hammer the dents out of the vehicles and send them to PHL.

to me it appears that given the severity of the accident and damage it appears that may be speeding would involved but Thank God no one was seriously injured Best Wishes to all hurt and a quick recovery

I apologize for my comments. I just could not resist. Especially the part about eating lunch in a lav truck.

I CAN'T RESIST, telling this true story.
(I too am glad the woman will be OK)

(Back to the story)

We had an ol' timer who worked Lav's forever in BOS/AA

One day, while dumping the rear of a DC-10, the hose pulled OFF, and "our friend" got HIT,FULL BLAST, Right on top of his HEAD. ........ He came into the ready room "spitting",sputtering, wiping his eyes/face, and covered in MANY shades of Blue, and  BROWN.

He had blue colored toilet paper draped in/out of his shirt pocket, and a "tootsie roll or two, IN his POCKET !!

Oh yeah, he use to eat his lunch(every day) IN the Lav truck.

In PHX, we have a lady that decided driving the lav truck would be an easy gig. Agent R bid for it and found quickly that she should be very careful what she wishes for. She started her bid and she was trained by the late Anthony Putrow (may he RIP God bless him). Once she got the general idea he left her on her own. Anthony said he was sitting in the breakroom and Agent R walks in and she is drenched with ramp gators and tarmac lettuce. Everyone in the breakroom was in a stunned silence. It was like the scene in "Carrie" when Sissy Spacek's character gets drenched in pig's blood at the prom. She whines, "Anthony! Ya gotta help me!" She has a high-pitched whiny voice with a deep Boston accent, if this helps with the imagery. He yelled, "I can't help you! You're on your own!". He raced out the door, got in his lav truck and laughed his a$$ off. It was in her ears, eyes, nose and mouth and all over.

barbee, thats nasty.

Until recently, we had a driver that would eat french fries in his lav truck while wearing the black rubber gloves. He's with the post office, now.

Come to find out from witnesses and coworkers, the Lav Truck driver was young man who was just hired.

The lady driving the maintenance van is the day shift mtc admin rep, she was helicoptered to the hospital in critical/serious condition.

She has internal bleeding, broken ribs and numerous other injuries.

The lav truck driver from Jetstream said he was going only 20mph, witnesses to the accident said he was doing around 50MPH as it lifted the van off the ground, popped all four tires and they had to cut her out of the van. The van is totaled.

The old saying a picture is worth a thousand words. When I first saw this on local tv as breaking news with the helicopter over top & a good view I made the comment to my son that the lav truck had to be doing at least 50.
