I heard a rumour about many pilots being let go out west..particularily BC...any truth to this??

Haven''t heard of any yet, myself, but I''d only be surprised if there weren''t any, given the reduced activity this year. The summer''s not over, but there''s got to be plenty of folks feeling the pain.

Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.
B.C. is full tilt boogie with fires, state of emergency. No lay off's expected.

be a good time for those lowtimwers looking for work to start visiting operators in BC and AB.

Drivers are drying up, know a couple of operators that are looking. Turn key types of course.
Had a guy from BC hydro call today looking for 212's and 214's for construction work (repairing the lines that have burnt) Had to smile,

and said that October may be a better bet.
Guys are timeing out and I'm on dead alert, oh well four hours is better than none. The Whistler area is DRY and tense.

You have to forgive me guys, I heard this rumour when the fires were raging in Ontario...a fellow rotor head was telling me this...and that is why I asked. I now realize how stupid of a question it was...but in this industry you just never know. Hey 412 I was actually thinking of going out west looking for work...I am a lowtimer, do you think this would be beneficial?..or would I simply be in the way. And I am always ready to work...boots on, bags packed.

Any more help...maybe a hint of who I should be contacting....making phone calls in the morning. If things look promising quiting the old job (if I can't get time off) and heading for the west.
