Lets see, we have what 17 destinations to europe from phl I think. That means at any given time there are 34 Widebody captains out flying 17 in Europe waiting to come back, and 17 captains in the states going to europe. Rough estimate of course since i don't know which are daily, every 2 days etc.
Total Widebody Captains in PHL are 101 on the 767 and 84 on the 330. 185 total.
Figure each is only good for 10-12 days of flying a month or less before they are timed out depending on the route.
Not many left over to cover time outs when the delays are heavy.
Looks like they need to upgrade some more folks.
