Jeepers I wonder where the "No Blood For Oil" gang is up to now?

Seemingly nothing as their domain name is up for sale.

"No blood for oil" was a popular slogan chanted by the left in opposition to President George W. Bush's push to send U.S. forces into Iraq. Now that President Obama authorized Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya, I have been waiting to hear chants of "no blood for oil." I am happy to report, I don't hear them.

Now the Obama administration is in the hot seat -- crushed between critics who charge the White House was too slow to authorize a no-fly zone and those who claim it was too rash in authorizing cruise missile strikes before notifying Congress. Hawks fear that Obama's promise not to put "boots on the ground" will embolden strongman Moammar Gadhafi to fight to retain power. Doves believe that Obama went back on his no-boots-on-the-ground promise by authorizing a CIA presence in Libya.

But wait it get's even better check out this Barack Obama quote from when he was a state Senator. Obama charged that the Iraq War was an "attempt by political hacks" to distract the public "from a rise in the uninsured, a rise in the poverty rate, a drop in the median income," corporate scandals and "a stock market that has just gone through the worst month since the Great Depression."

It's much easier to throw rocks from the back bench than it is to lead a nation. OK now boys and girls can you say "Hypocrite, Fraud & Phoney"? I knew that you could!!!!

“We’re fighting three wars now. Imagine how many we’d be fighting if President Obama hadn’t won the Nobel Peace Prize.”

Brahahah too funny. How stupid does the Nobel committee look now? Oh wait they gave one to a known terrorist leader Arafat and to his cheerleaderr Jimmy (worst president ever now replaced by Obama) Carter as well. Go figure!

Obama gets one, then has dinner with the tyrant leader the following year who's recipient is imprisoned by said tyrant.

Boy they sure know how to pick them.

I believe the call it the "if your guy does it, it's bad but if my guy does it, it's OK" syndrome. Most politicians, pundits and voters seem to suffer from this syndrome. As far as I am aware there is no known cure.

Hopefully on Monday the US will no longer be involved as promised but somehow I doubt it. Won't be the first time a politician lied and broke promises and I know it will not be the last.

I'm opposed to foreign interventionist/Imperialist incursions by any POTUS. Unless the Congress formally issues a Declaration of War then I want the US military on their bases drinking and whoring like good soldiers.

Peter Bouckaert, Human Rights Watch's emergencies director, told CNN that fighting had ended when Gadhafi was cornered in a drainage ditch. He said crowds beat Gadhafi in what was a "humiliating end" for the former dictator.

"When he left the area, he was very much alive," Bouckaert said. "There's no reason why he should have been subjected to this kind of mob justice."

Yes, it is very sad to hear that Gadhafi met the same end that he inflicted on so many others, isn't it?..

A lawyer for Gadhafi's son Saadi, who fled in September to Niger, issued a statement Sunday saying, "Saadi Gadhafi is shocked and outraged by the vicious brutality which accompanied the murders of his father and brother."

Has his son spoken out on the outrage of the Pan Am bombing?... Didn't think so.

Very sad indeed. His son also spoke fo exacting revenge. If I were him I would be more concerned about my own well being than going all Charles Bronson.

I heard he shot himself behind the ear three times.

Notice the new democracy being instituted in Libya?

Look at what happened at the end of WWII. Women who collaborated with the Nazi's had their heads shaved and the men were shot. Often without going through the trouble of a trial. Why, becasue people were angry and wanted pay back.

It's easy for us to pass judgement considering none of us have lived under an oppresive police state for over forty years. Libya as an end result was a pressure cooker that eventually blew. Who knows what the story is behind the guy who caped him. Maybe he had a father or brother that disappeared into Gadhaffi's prison system.

Painting a pretty broad brush here.
IIRC, French and Russians shaved woman's heads and shot collaborators.
Germans did not (home country N'Chit).
As I stated previously, the 'new government' may be as bad (or worse) than the old government.
Regarding US history, our choice of despots (we called allies) have been or are being chewed up.
No wonder Karzai can't align himself with some country that will leave his ass in the sling soon, or outright make a treaty with the Taliban.

Oh Yes, we Merikans have a stellar human rights record. Even though we are the world leaders in prison populations.

World Prison Population 2011

The USA also has the highest prison population rate in the world, 743 per 100,000 of the national population, followed by Rwanda (c. 595), Russia (568), Georgia (547), U.S. Virgin Is. (539), Seychelles (507), St Kitts & Nevis (495), British Virgin Is. (468), Belize (439), Dominica (431), Bermuda (428), Grenada (423) and Curacao (422).
