So with the survey out and at this time around 15 members of management reading and responding to the issues on this blog, do they care?

"Management", in the Poll, needed to be more clearly defined. One cannot judge the "Level" of Management viewing this Forum by the Poll results. "Management", in many instances, is powerless in the scheme of things!

You know everyone just reads it for The Galley Show.

READ THIS**** RANT AND RAVE
written by someone else. just cutting and pasting this over to this link.. something for management at both airlines think about. Responding to the "gentleman" who thinks that no one should have a career as a flight attendant. We have laws in our country designed to protect our citizens from discrimination. And according to those laws, it IS discriminatory in America for an airline to impose age restrictions on otherwise qualified employees. I'm sure you'd feel differently if the shoe were on the other foot. How would you feel if you were told at age 35 you were no longer an asset to the company you work for?? Not all of the best employees are 20 years old, female and a size 2.
I'm so sick of people like this who rant on about poor service and blaming so much on the flight attendants. You want someone to blame? Then blame all of the executives and the government for their decisions that constantly create a hotbed of tension for flight attendants AND passengers. Not happy with the seat pitch? No meals? Broken planes? Lost bags? Flight delays? Cancellations? Stop taking it out on hard working people that are struggling to provide for their families and still maintain a decent lifestyle.
And to say that flight attendants are finally making what their job is worth....I'm sure you'd feel differently if you were on a plane that encountered an emergency and the only thing that stood in the way of whether you live or die...was a flight attendant. The situation on the plane is often just above the level of bearable. We're all trying to get through it. Most of you are nice and BEARABLE. But some of you I'd like to open the door and let your ignorant butts fall out. You want me to smile when I'm providing service to you? Then how about a smile from you and a 'please' or 'thank you'? Some of you are so rude, I want to slap your mothers for not teaching you common courtesy. So many of you want something for nothing.
Why on earth should we give you a free upgrade? Why should we give you free food?
Why should we hold a plane with 50-400 other people on it, just for you. There are other people in the world besides you. Act like it. Whew! Glad I got that off my chest.
Can't wait to "welcome you aboard" your next flight.....jerk.

She's right, they are a size 0 and they keep my party cup full on a 45 minute flight.

She's right again...some of those senior mommas would definitely be blocking the exit...well them and the crippled people who managed to get to the plane in time despite the removal of electric carts in PHL

Darlin' did you forget your estrogen? Lighten up...

What Parker said was he can't pay F/A's enough to expect them to make a career out of it. Just the nature of the industry, given cheaper carriers with lower costs.

A regulated industry supported career jobs. Capitalism works for companies that are flexible to adapt to the market - for the legacy airlines that survive that means labor costs that match what the new guys are spending. They did with airplane and airport leases, they did with hundreds of suppliers, and they did it with labor. Which is the only reason your airline still exists.

"Capitalism works for companies..." .."They did with.."....."and they did it with labor."

Hmmm...so: employees aren't any part of the "They"?....as if we didn't know

BUT:"Which is the only reason your airline still exists."...ummm...how is it that the current absurdity's then qualifiable as "YOUR" anything? Given that "THEY" are running things, when not otherwise fully disporting themselves via now-standard corporate rapine and pillage

I've nostrils now filled with the stench of misplaced would-be elitism therein  You must account yourself amongst the "They"

The short answer is no, they do not care.

I'm always surprised this question continues to be asked. Nothing has changed for the better without the intervention of frontline employees. SHARES is a dog, so the employees try to make it work. The employees do as much for the customers as they can with less pay, less manpower, less equipment and less patience. A particular wholy-owned carrier is trying to get employees to take voluntary time off for two months at a certain station due to flight reductions they were told two years ago would not happen, and this after they were told there would be no reduction in the workforce after the flights were lost.

Betcha some money that Tempe is aware and doesn't care.

Or maybe they do care......at least about their bonuses. Maybe that's why electric carts are being eliminated in a hub, belt system maintenance is being avoided by disallowing the use of the same for routine baggage transfer, planes are being sent back before new aircraft are acquired to replace them and contract talks are constantly stalled.

I guess it's a question with more than one right answer, depending on how you look at it.

But he makes sure himself and the rest of the Litterbox bozo's get paid enough to make a career of it...

after the safety thread in LAS mgmt was made aware by corporate that threads are being posted. Mgmt has stated that after the safety thread was posted they thought it was done on company time so any person who has company access to websites has been blocked from usaviation. Who cares? everyone who makes posts on this site has a computer at home anyways. well atleast they know how the employees really feel. maybe this is how they fix problmes on the front line since local mgmt wont tell corporate whats really going on.
