Yesterday 8 RAF Harriers came to NBay for fuel before continuing on to Cold Lake.
Here are a couple pics while they were here.

Maple Flag sounds like it's going to be quite a training ex. Hear they just sent a bunch of new recruits awaiting pilot courses to Cold Lake to help get the op ready.

They usually have a number of pipeliners or whatever in town to help out with the various duties going on. Also to help some of the more "mature" members make it through nights of endless crud and other such foolishness. The 06:00 briefing can be pretty brutal 😱

I wish I could be a military pilot but due to my eye sight thats out of the question. But Iam considering going in as a Avionins Systems Tech. eventhough Iam currently under teh AMT program at Canadore. The Harriers that were here last week were part of #3 Sqn. but the pilots were members of #4 Sqn. I can say that Maple Flag will be the ultimate airshow that us regular people will probly never see.

MF usually has a civvy viewing area outside the main secure part of the base that is open to the public. Also there is often an open-house day but that might be forgone due to the Big airshow in July at Cold Lake.
