It is un clear if the FAA Data is ODIs ir SDA, they use the term difficulty reports which would imply SDAs but most sound like ODIs things like Return to Field and In Flight Diversions.
IFE in genreal do create a lot of mx issues as seen by how often the did not work. I guess one at each seat would mean even more MX issues.
The heat issue might be one of the advantages of Fiber Optics. The Screen on A/C 680 didn't feel warm to the touch at all and it doesn't have controllers under the seats.
