What's new

More Cuts coming

No, they're not the same if you mean upgrades to F/C or Envoy. Preferred seats are still coach seats.

There's also the other fees that have been added/increased - booking fee for award tickets, increased fee for booking award tickets less than 2-3 weeks ahead, etc.
Good thing you are on top of it.

Is US doing the preferred coach seating, now?

All those other fees, would they total up to 400 mil?

Sure enough - there was something on it in About US a while back.

All those other fees, would they total up to 400 mil?

No clue. Purely a guess - the loss of FF's will eat up most of the extra revenue that would have been generated.

Hint: They said that August RASM was up 2.5 to 4%, but about 2 of those percentage points were due to the load factor increase. In turn, the load factor increase was entirely driven by lower capacity - capacity decreased more than traffic decreased. So all the fees that were in place for August, plus fare increases instituted since August 2007, increased RASM by only 0.5 to 2%.

I know how that feels, I could hold weekends on the number two window at Wendy's and then one of the other Wendy's like fifteen states away laid off people who then moved to my Wendy's with like five minutes more seniority than me and knocked me down nine bid lines. NINE!!
Thursday Friday off if I'm lucky. Frickin fryer oil prices....

It's called the seniority system......

Just one thing...take your HEART out of it! Cuz it'll get broken every time!!!
ahhhhh.....so very very very sad!! Nope...keep your heart, leave it at home, don't carry it to work because if you breath deeply, that means you care....if your heart beats rapidly...that means you care...we can't have that anymore!! it costs too much $$!!!

Some people love rocks, others love plants...A rock just sits there, and does nothing, but it doesn't cost anything either. You can pick up a rock from the side of the road, move it to a new place, but it still does nothing. It doesn't cost anything either. So, holding on to the rock is better than letting the wind blow some sand in your face. When that happens you have to rub your eyes to see better, when that happens you just might notice that your rock is still sitting but now that you can see, you'll notice the plants surrounding the rock are growing stronger to withstand the wind. But you don't own the plants, all you have is a rock..sitting doing nothing...the plant owner is prospering because he wasn't afraid to let the wind and sand blow against them, and he wasn't afraid to pour rain upon them and water them deeply and encourage them to grow despite the storms, ..but you refused the plants and chose the rock, because that was the safe way to go...it won't move...it'll be there forever. So now the plants are alive and the owner is thriving, but you have no crop, and no growth! All you have left is a dead rock!!

You can throw a rock at those that annoy you.

You don't know how much I'd love to do that!! You see..the "rock" represents MNL outsourcing and the same mentality coming into US reservations....the "plants" represent airlines who really CARE about their employees such as WN and actually encourage growth, unlike our res offices who stomp on you with everything you've done wrong (even if you were unaware and you were only trying to help the company) and never hearing anything positive!!! VEry low morale!!!
