Why a thumbs down for hiring? Isn't that a good thing? You too can have the good life. FA's in DTW
I looked at their site and because I live in Washington, DC, it looks like I am not eligible for any part of the hiring process? If I am misreading this, somebody school me. Also, what is the new contract like? What does the first year NWA FA make for the first year? How is per diem? Just curiious...
I don't understand their new hiring process -- it seems to me they should look at how UAL and CAL are doing it -- all on-line, and then fly you out for the group interview.
Oh, don't tell finman that we took a 40% cut (actually more)... even though the Star Tribune stated that we did. It was nice seeing the paper actually having a balanced article. This was back in May... I think,
I looked at the contract and I have to say, they are all pretty much the same give or take a dollar or two (among the majors anyway). Each has plusses and minuses. For example, I was really suprised US pays better in per diem and premium pays than CO, UA, and NWA.
I had a phone interview with NWA today. They want me to drive to Newark, NJ for an interview. Then, if they like me, I would be requested to get to DTW on my own (no transporation from them). So, we will see what happens with this. Not sure if I really want it badly enough to drive from DCA to EWR (certainly won't buy a ticket). Beyond that, same thing -- drive from DCA to DTW. I could probably get a buddy pass from a US buddy, but still.
This whole idea of geographical interviews BLOWS. They completely left out the DCA/IAD/BWI market. Too bad.
