New management appointments for PHL

They both seem to have good experience and strong backgrounds. Two and a half years into this merger and they are just now starting to focus on PHL. 🙄 Well better late than never....good luck and welcome.

wow, from VP of Inflight to Sr VP of the whole shabang in PHL...

I guess US needs to appoint a VP for every city now, nothing better than to fatten up the Executive ranks.

They will get eaten up just like the last 10 or 20 heros they sent there.

Maybe Ciminelli can run Philly the AA way (think Darth Vader at the conference table).

What surprises me is that inspite of ourselves (worst in the industry), US is still able to attract talent. Boda is just following Isom from NW. I guess he saw talent in her there. But Ciminelli from AA is a puzzler. Why would he leave AA after 30 years, so close to retirement and come here?

Throw enough money and perks to someone and they will take a job.

Probably was offered a great deal with another golden parachute. His contract probably brings him in with 20 years effective longevity, just like that of most top-level executives we bring here.

He probably is from the PHL area and wants someone to pay to move his mansion and toys, or for some reason wants to retire somewhere in the area. He will show up on his appointed days, be unavailable due to "meetings and conference calls" (i.e. golf course, skiing) and after a year say PHL is unfixable and wait to be given his option to resign "to pursue other interests." The BOD will offer him a few million dollars to go away.

We will then see him traveling the world Space Positive off A-West (USAirways perks) AND A-East (with his American Airlines perks.)

They should try that with the employess who carry this airline.

I worked with Bob C at AA, and he's a good guy. Lots of airport experience.

He was eligible to retire from AA, so he didn't lose anything, but I seem to recall that positive space priviliges are suspended as long as he's working for a competitor. If he leaves US, his AA positive space gets reinstated.
