New NWA uniform...

Toyota and Honda fly an airline that was BIRTHED by Northwest...got that?

Are you referring to United by that comment? Pan Am, maybe. Northwest...No.

Anyway, the zippered uniform pieces are far from being fashion forward and the horribly overweight people modeling them certainly do them no justice. Apparently there are many others who agree with me over at Airliners.net.

Do you see Virgin, Jet Blue, the European carriers, the Latin American carriers using overweight models in their PR? No. You don't. I do stand corrected though. It's quintessentially...Upper Midwest. And very unflattering...

As for my avatar, Mario Zamparelli created one of the most cutting edge corporate brandings of its time...

A little defensive, aren't we? I don't find them flattering, regardless of whether they were designed in Manhattan or Minneapolis. I do find Delta's flattering. Just an opinion. I don't care for sky blue mixed with charcoal (think Delta's former uniform) and I think that stretch components are too casual for an airline with international reach. Speaking a foreign language, possessing a graduate degree, having worked for Pan Am, and United Airlines is irrelevant (but good on ya since you feel that's important to the discussion at hand). I don't like them. I also don't care for NWA's choice of models. I find the new look and NWA's overweight models rather unappealing. Since this is a public forum, I felt compelled to chime in with my critique, so don't get your undies in a wad...Merry Christmas...or would you prefer, Joyeux Noel?
😱 😱 Well indeed these uniforms are VERY amateurish, at best. The bigger question is WHY did NWA need new uniforms? The one they are presently wearing are very stylish and actually quite unique. The red sweaters, red overcoats, ties and scarves are SO very NWA.
Now on to your Pan Am association- I too worked for them, possess a Phd., but what is the relevance to this topic. Come on now, what are you doing with your language skills and multiple grad degrees? A bit of snobbery... clearly very unappealing. NWA IS a world class airline, yes with some very nice Midcontinent charm- and NO im not from MSP or the midwest.
I wish NWA the best of luck, you are a great group of employees and deserve the "best" of management to move your company forward and celebrate many more years as an independent airline- JUST say NO to DELLLDA!!!!!

I find them to be quintessentially Midwest...with pudgy models to boot. Very unflattering with the exception of the solid charcoal gray ensembles. <_<

pudgy  (I guess there's something wrong with being MID-WESTERN [you're at the wrong carrier if you dislike the Mid West style], although I'm a West Coaster, I fail to see your point... I want to say sorry for responding so strongly. Clearly, fashion is very important to you, I just cringe at passing judgement on people because of weight. As for the "midwest" style, I've always thought of it as conservative with a taste for quality. We can agree to disagree, and yes you are entitle to your opinion. I did not need to be so snappy. )

It is JUST A UNIFORM.

NW purposefully used CSA's (the ones without the Wings), a variety of ground personnel, with Flight Staff (the ones WITH the Wings)

A.net comment:

"Also, while some of us men love to seen a fine looking woman in a uniform, it is nice to see that not every NW woman is expected to be a supermodel. Human beings are human beings and their quality of service should not depend on their weight or body shape. Leave 'em alone."

That's when you could walk on an NWA plane and know that experts had launched your plane. (that sign was a powerful reminder of the dedication of a vital part of the company)

On the "planet"? Ummm......ok......

:mf_boff:

OK...so let's see. You have the world's largest, richest economy on earth, the USA. Then you have the world's largest, richest economy divided into five regions WEST, The Mid West (8th largest economy on the planet), South and the Mid Atlantic, NorthEast (or you can look at it further in Sub regions) . Now do you need me to break it down into GDP for you. I guess there are a lot of funny things in life if you don't understand them. It shouldn't be that difficult to figure out. It's GDP is larger than most country's on the planet.
This might help you: http://www.nemw.org/data.htm

I can help you out if you can come up with more than an "Umm" for a question.
