Just went through check-in and security at Logan and noticed AA installed new stanchions at the check-in counters and lines leading to security check points. Of all the things they could spend money on and are in need replacement or refurbishment why stanchions? Perhaps they have them in anticipation of large crowds for Thanksgiving. Employee concessions are funding stanchions unfortunately.

Employee concessions have been funding everything including low fares following deregulation..We also fund mismanagement!

Maybe they should just go buy a couple skeins of nylon rope over at the Home Depot?...

Back on Planet Reality, I seem to recall the life expectancy of Tensabarriers being 18-24 months. Customers abuse them (they are *not* there to entertain your kids...), and the TSA isn't known for treating equipment very well either.

What a great and informative topic that needs to be discussed thoroughly. 🙄

I just thought the employee posters would like to know that I as a passenger agree spending money on new stanchios is outrageous when the outgoing ones did the job just fine with a little cosmetic damage. Bob's pet peeve seems to be spending on equipment and facilities instead of salaries. I agree AA needs to invest in new aircraft and terminals but new stanchions at BOS and gate area sears at LGA are unnecessary and excessive.

Funny how you didn't notice how in both those stations they are tearing up the tile floors that were only put in a few years ago and putting down that expensive, top of the line synthetic stone flooring.

Bob, to be fair, do you know for a fact that AMR is paying for the new flooring? Or, is this the PANYNJ realizing that the last floors were not as durable as they thought? Not every change to the terminal is done by the airline.

Too much money in the bank, boys.........got's to bring that down to about 2B in order to file. The spending spree will pick up steam in 2012! look for toilet seat enhancements on md-80's soon!

Add new chairs to the list at least in the B28-B29 gate areas. Look similar to the black ones AA has at JFK, not sure what was wrong with the old grey ones, but they did get replaced. Also heard AA/Massport wil be doing a renovation to the lobby for terminal B with United moving to a newly constructed pier.
