Are you so naieve to think that the Administration did'nt sign off on this new Intel.? He is the CIC and nothing is witheld from the mans desk who has the codes for Armageddon. After Iraq he knows the score, he also knows that a draft would be required to combat a million man army which Iran boasts of, and after almost a loss of 4000 US Servicemen in Iraq he understands America has'nt the stomach. Usama Bin Laden already figured out that americans can't stand the sight of blood after our fast retreat from mogadishu and took full advantage of it!

Iran should have been dealt with in 1979, but alas just like all presidents since the peanut farmer they "kick the can" and pass it on. If many on this board get their way perhaps we will get to see How a Woman deals with a nation who refuses to recognize her worth as nothing more than a few goats on the market!

Should get very interesting!

??? I didn't know el chimpo had to "sign off" on intel before it became fact. Sort of how he "signed off" on all the terrific "intel" leading up to the Iraqi war. As el chimpo himself stated earlier today, this was information that he only learned about last week, yet was available in August. And considering he is the "CIC" as you so gracefully put it, i can only assume he was aware of this information long before he began spouting off about WWIII. We all know why they didn't want this to go public, as it will, at least temporarily, deafen the drumbeats of war. I wholeheartedly believe that there only 2 nutjobs in this world foolish enough to want war between Iran and the U.S., those being el chimpo and the other religious nut Ahmadinejad.

Um...George W Bush ALSO figured out that Americans can't stand the sight of blood. Because if he really wanted to fight a "global war on terror", he would have reinstated the draft to provide the manpower to do it. But that would have been political suicide - not for him...his term's almost up - because if he did that now, it'd be a cold day in hell before another Republican sat in the oval office. Bush knows that. Party uber alles.

You'll not get an argument from me concerning a draft, if we plan to fight terrorism around the globe I dont see any other choice. But do you seriously think a DEM will reinstitute one?

It will take a Hiroshima or two in this country before Americans realize our very existence is in peril. Let that happen and watch how fast our rights are swiftly stripped!!!!!

He reads intel? He gets processed intel that has crossed Cheneys desk first to make sure it says exactly what he wants it to say. W could not decide if wanted tuna or PB&J for luch with out running it by Cheney first.

Say what you wish against 'W'...but you will all live to see the day soon when Iran bites us in the

ass. 😉

I've got to "digress" with you here Dell(good buddy).
Here's why.

"If" Iran has/will have a nuke weapon, it MOST assuredly would (attempt to)use it, on the Jews....and If Iran made that CRITICAL "miscalculation", they would FOREVER, and EVER be a "foregone conclusion", relegated to the Persian HISTORY BOOKS !!

Plus, we would obviously know, that they DID possess them, albeit for a VERY brief moment in time(thanx to TEL-AVIV)

Then there is the subject of a "delivery system"

To Israel............(hypothetically) quite possible.

To the USA.........(hypothetically) virtually Impossible.

For us here in the good ol' USA,.............my first pick to be wary of a Nuke landing on US soil, is still Russia who did/does have the capability of a delivery system.

???...Did I hear you say, "that they could smuggle a dirty bomb onto us soil" ???
(my answer)...Good question !
Then lets start INSPECTING EVERY fuuking ship container that "hits a pier" here in the USA.
If my memory serves me correctly, THAT was suggested by the Democrats, but "shot down" by El-Chimpo + company, as a bad Idea(Too CO$TLY) !!!..................("GD" HYPOCRITS)

So the CIC is the last to know huh? Wow good to know the man with the codes is out of the loop!

OK KC!!!!!!!

I guess will just have to wait and see what happens on the next administrations watch.

"12", I think what KCF means, is that "Dirty DICK" Cheney, has been(unofficially) running the show since the Katherine Harris days.

Lets not forget, when El-Chimpo asked "DD" Cheney, to go find him(W) a VP, Cheney came back and said..."I found one...................ME"

The NIE report is several month old. My guess is he knew quite some time ago but chose to lie to us yet again or he just chose not to 'ask' so that he could lie to us yet again. Either way, he lied to us about Iran like he has lied to us about Iraq, Gonzales, Rumsfeld and who knows what else.

If he was not a politician, I would say that he is a pathological liar but since he is a politician, that would be redundant.

Did anyone see his press conference the other day? Good grief, I actually felt bad for him for a split second. He is lie a pinata and he is getting the tar smacked out of him.

You know, if I were a terrorist organization, and I saw how Bush has divided this country - if you don't support the war you are "unpatriotic", if you question the leadership you are "emboldening the enemy"...I would know that if I attack under a new administration, we'll be more focused on finger pointing than action.

Then again, maybe a new administration will do what Bush started to do...and SHOULD HAVE CONTINUED doing - go after THOSE people, even if it means blowing up every cave in the country he's holed up in, rather than shifting the focus to another "enemy" that had nothing to do with us. I mean, let's say al qaeda hits again in 2009 - and they are holed up in Syria - do we go after Iran because Ahmadabado was strutting around in 2007? Or do we go after the ones who struck us and show the rest of the world that if YOU attack us - YOU will regret it. Instead, we have shown the rest of the world that if YOU attack us, we'll pursue you for a couple of years, then identify a "worse" enemy (especially if that enemy has lots of oil under the ground) and go after him instead.

Gar, KC, Bears......point taken!

I know this much, we as a nation cannot remain devided as we now are, it only weakens our resolve. I will not set here and defend the mistakes made by the current administration, but would one of you care to show me one......just one......politician that can be taken seriously anymore?

Im sick and tired of the dung heap in DC!!!!!!!!

Now with that said, seems Im not the only one questioning the sudden about face.

There is not one out there who we could say that regardless of who else is standing up, we would choose him/her.

Looking at the current batch of misfits and simpletons, as I have mentioned else where, I would feel OK with either McCain, Biden or Obama. Having said that, who ever takes over the helm of this sinking ship is destined for failure. In my opinion, W has screwed up so badly and destroyed this nations reputation and relationships so severely that it will take decades to fix the damage he has caused. No one who we would want would be dumb enough to apply for the job. Would you? I sure as hell know I would not touch it with a ten foot pole.

No one in or out of the country can believe anything that comes out of the White House. They have told so many lies and abused the truth in such a fashion that they have zero credibility. I beliee that the likely hood of us getting attacked again are higher than they ever were.

The NIE is a classified document for those of you not in the know....being they released

"declassified portions" makes me quite suspect. But of course you all swallow it hook line

and sinker.

WASHINGTON - It is difficult to recall a precedent in which a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), whose unclassified findings total only 2 to 3 percent of the full classified document, led to a political earthquake like the one created by the release of the NIE about Iran's nuclear ambitions this week.

Such unclassified reports are a relatively new phenomenon in Washington, and they should be welcomed. But they are problematic when they involve a document that does not clarify in any way how and why its authors reached their conclusions, yet presumptuously attempts to provide decision-makers with public political advice.

The report obfuscates the reality of Iran's massive nuclear effort, in particular its enrichment program. Instead, it states that since autumn 2003, Iran has made no continuous effort to manufacture nuclear weapons.

Even if the revelation that weaponization was halted in 2003 is genuine (and not intentionally misleading on Iran's part), the document is puzzling, because it is known that manufacturing and stockpiling fissionable material determine how close a country is to the bomb. Furthermore, the public report does not state how much nuclear engineering progress Iran had made through 2003; the suspension may have been one aspect of some form of coordination between this activity and the production of fissionable material.

In general, the unclassified NIE gives no hint as to how and why American intelligence has decided to ascribe such a high degree of credibility to this finding.

Duh

You are being fed a line of Bull Crap and don't even realize it.
