I've got to "digress" with you here Dell(good buddy).
Here's why.

"If" Iran has/will have a nuke weapon, it MOST assuredly would (attempt to)use it, on the Jews....and If Iran made that CRITICAL "miscalculation", they would FOREVER, and EVER be a "foregone conclusion", relegated to the Persian HISTORY BOOKS !!

Plus, we would obviously know, that they DID possess them, albeit for a VERY brief moment in time(thanx to TEL-AVIV)

Then there is the subject of a "delivery system"

To Israel............(hypothetically) quite possible.

To the USA.........(hypothetically) virtually Impossible.

For us here in the good ol' USA,.............my first pick to be wary of a Nuke landing on US soil, is still Russia who did/does have the capability of a delivery system.

I'm not necessarily in favor of a nuke in the US but if one is going to fall, my vote is for DC during a joint session of Congress. No reason those SOB's should get off scott free.

In all seriousness, have you ever read the Clancy book (I forgot the title) where a Japanese 747 crashes into the Capitol building during a joint session? It pretty much wipes out the entire congress, POTUS, VPPOTUS, USSC cabinet .. etc.

It poses an interesting idea to me. Would we be able to start over (I assume we could) and end up with better than we have now (could we really be worse off? .. don’t answer that).

I had some free time so I started to do a little reading about this NIE affair.

According to W he was told that a NIE about Iran back in August but according to him he did not ask what was in it or what direction it was headed. He is also saying now that he was not told about it till Nov 28th or so? There is also speculation that Cheney has been sitting on this info for about a year.

By his own words he is either a liar or incompetent as a leader. That he and Cheney are not facing impeachment hearings is a gift. W and Cheney are facing a mutiny. The national security agency's are turning on their masters. They were burned by the 9/11 BS wen the White house tried to hang the failure on the CIA/NSA and it would seem this time around they are saying no, you are not going to burn us again for your incompetence.

Bush is irrelevant. He has been demoted to seat warmer for the next POTUS. He may be able to stop the Dems from doing what they were elected to do, but he is also incapable of doing anything he wants. He is pathetic and he has set this country back decades. He will have sent over 4,000 men and women to their deaths.

FInished a book last week - "American Dynasty". Good read. The author pretty much says both Bush 41 and Bush 43 are master prevaricators. IMHO, Bush should have been impeached when he altered the constitution by overriding the decision of the judge that said warrantless wiretaps were unconstitutional. He took an oath to PROTECT the constitution, not amend it. People were up in arms with Clinton took an oath to tell the truth about a blowjob and broke it...how come nobody seems too concerned that Bush took an oath to protect the constitution - and broke THAT???

The only thing I can come up with is that Clinton's transgression was a moral one. Bush's transgressions are cloaked in the catch all of national security. To paraphrase the quote from the Nazi, if you wrap something up in national security and question the loyalty of those against it, you can pretty much get people to do your bidding.

Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.

But the Ultimate political TRAGEDY was Colin Powells Address to the U.N.
Powell UNKNOWINGLY gave that FALSE speech, that will FOREVER ruin his credibility.
A sad ending to a man, with an Illustrious career !

The CRUELEST part of the TV Image, was the image's of NEOCONS like george tenent, and John Negroponte, sitting a mere 2 feet behind Powell, trying hard, to keep from smiling, as Powell made a PERMANENT FOOL of himself !
