What's new

NWA F/A's ratify agreement.

After reading the press release, I find it hard to believe that over 2200 of the F/A's did not vote on this agreement. Sad...

As for the standard losers' lament "it's the best we could do, we'll get 'em next time" from the AFA - here's what you are going to be up against when your contract becomes amendable in 2011...

http://blogs.usatoday.com/sky/2007/05/skybus_attendan.html

Skybus attendants to work on commission
"Just what the airline industry needed: Flight attendants on commission." That's from Mark Tatge of Forbes.com, who writes that while Skybus can get to Columbus for as little as $10, "you'll pay in peace and quiet. Skybus flight attendants will be hawking not only food and water but also such sundries as suntan lotion and jewelry to an extremely captive market. And the attendants will have incentives aplenty to tap you on the shoulder. Paid only $9 an hour, or $16,000 a year, they'll get a 10% commission on any merchandise sold in this flying souk. (Pilots, paid $75,000, don't get a cut, but we can only imagine the infomercial-like announcements.)," Tatge adds.

That is, if Skybus is still around in 2011. However, the (limbo) bar seems to have been set. Good luck F/A's!

F/A's ratify TA3. Almost a 50-50 split....

Press release here.

Well, it is a clean sweep with the unions at NWA. You can all bow to your master and accept the scraps thrown your way.

You (all the yes voters) have set the bar to a new low.

When we (AMFA) went on strike we told you what would happen to you all if you chose to cross our line. Now you get to live it. Good luck on getting them next time in what...2011???

Yep. I expected this. 😱

All these people are just thinking about the money and the 4:15. <_<

These contracts are designed to get rid of alot of people and keep people who has rich husbands/sponsors (like MOI...),(and/or) who wants to get laid on all their layovers (use to be moi), (and/or) think they are going to have a battle with NW again,(and/or) just like getting free soda pop while working. (and/or) Come to work because that is their only social life they got.....(and/or) don't want to use their degree(s) to get a "real" job. 🙄

I suspect when they start working on this contract and figure out how much more $ you lose then I think they will leave in droves (yeah you senior people wait until you get forced to work on the regional jets when you get yanked from your regular trips)

Regional jets they want seat as much as the DC9's so why must our pay drop when we work on those?

My friend had Mrs. Steenland on her flight and Mrs. Steenland was saying "You don't understand how HARD my husband is working"
It must be nice living in such a delicate bubble!!!

I'm sure that Calvin College graduate who destroyed alot of lives must have done it in a "Christian Way"
and thinks the money is like MANA and it just came his way!

Ah, now all we need is some word of un-wisdom from our favorite scab to barf up a few comments about some redundant ununionisms, ect for that "I sound like a broken record" effect on this thread.

Actually jenny@nw, I wasn't going to make any comment at all but since you insist how can I turn down such a lovely mannerd lady?

As far as unionism goes lets take a look at what tech2101 had to say, "When we (AMFA) went on strike we told you what would happen to you all if you chose to cross our line. Now you get to live it. Good luck on getting them next time in what...2011???" YOU GUYS HAD A SYMPATHY STRIKE CLAUSE IN YOUR CONTRACT!!!! There should not have even been a choice. Your brothers and sisters asked for your support and you had the means to assist them, the choice was made for you. Instead what did the F/A's do? The same thing you always do, follow the pilots around doing as you are told and licking their boots all the while. You should have heard the silly clown of an F/A that spoke at the Crystal Gardens Rally. He was an embarrassment, hell I was even embarrassed for the AMFA Boys after he was done speaking. "We support your strike and try to do what we can but the pilots hide the logbooks from us so there isn't much we can do." What a freaking joke. My thoughts were, "Quit worrying about the freaking hotplates and try not showing up for work." Each and every one of the NWA F/A's had the power to swing the NWA strike but instead you walked right past your union brothers and sisters without a second glance. Please don't blame me for your infidelity.

Lets have a look at another entry of tech2101's post. "You (all the yes voters) have set the bar to a new low." WOW! I thought that job was for worthless Scabs and the members of the TWU not proud union members.

Regardless, congratulations on your new contract; enjoy. 🙂

Sad but true... 🙁
If there were any 'solidarity' then this would be a moot point. There was a 'missed' opportunity handed to all groups. This missed opportunity will not come again!!!

Get ready for the 'globalization' of air transport.
Ticket price is 'elastic'.

Jenny, just curious. How was the vote conducted? Independent 3 pty? Mail, phone, e-mail to AFA national?

I am from another (AFA) carrier and when I read the article stating NWA ratified their concessionary contract through
2011 by less than 1% I thought just like you. 😛h34r:
Curious to see how the vote was conducted.

Ballotpoint- email or phone.

There's over 400 votes that "didn't count" according to one website. (of course no one is going to do anything about this)

Can't wait to see some senior momma do some regional flying because she/he was forced to. (Now I'm also hearing "they aren't going to have enough time to get that implemented)

when it comes to saving money and making the creditors happy- it will happen....

Dream on about this particular employer caring about you- they don't. Not even if you are understaffed and got killed because you were doing the work of 2 people. Heard about Doug making a statement about the poor Pinnacle worker but I don't recall a "peep" about the person who died in Norfolk who was an NW staff.

Oh boy, that brings back a momory. I knew the gal in ORF. Worked here in DTW before going there. Your right, not a peep on our mainline gal but ole Doug makes a statement on Pinnacle.

The unions all had that opportunity to support AMFA THEY FAILED N THAT RESPECT but I dont see how this vote could count given it was close 50/50 with some votes not even counted. But as for you scab boy, the only embarassing thing around this board is you

Interesting sidebar: 2 days after the DAY incident, I noticed 2 guys in shirts and ties walking around checking out our gates, when I asked them who they were/what they were doing, they told me they were from 9E. They were going to each station that has 9E service, checking out the elevators to make sure something like this doesn't happen again....

Who did the counting?
Why did the 400 votes not count?

Do you realize that the vote count was only 105 numbers away from Rejecting the contract?
If you voted NO you might want to look into it.

Hold your Union accountable.
You have a right to this information.
