NYSE to delist UAL (UAL) By Jennifer Waters

The New York Stock Exchange said after the bell Friday that it will delist UAL Corp. (UAL) , the bankrupt parent of United Airlines. In a press release, the exchange said that the company''s share price stayed under $1 for more than 30 days, triggering the delisting. Shares instead will be traded over the counter beginning April 3, NYSE said. UAL shares closed up a penny at 85 cents. With 66.5 million shares outstanding, UAL had a market value of $56.2 million. The NYSE said in December that UAL''s listing was under review. UAL was first listed on the NYSE on Aug. 1, 1969.

I guess the phrase the polits coined in the early 80''s would definetly be true today.....

"One Less Airline Can Make A Difference"

So much for full pay to the last day...

Today Holman Jenkins wrote a piece for the WSJ editorial page "Let''s Kill United" which contained some very persuasive points.

Jenkins points out that Treasury Secretary John Snow was CEO of CSX when Conrail was sold off.

John Snow is now a member of the ATSB.
