"Iran is seeking to obtain a nuclear weapon and constitutes the gravest threat to our existence since the war of independence," Mr Netanyahu said at President Peres’s official residence.

This guy won't piss around with Iran....US backed or not.

True test of his ME policy

People in the west have absolutely no idea whats how ugly things are going to get very soon. Most of Europe (and the UN) has now been engulfed in antisemitism and have surrendered in utter fear to Islamic extremism. As a result, Israel is on their own. Ahmadinejad already knows this and has gave the middle finger to Obama (who is considered weak) as he progresses towards eventual conflict with Israel. Netanyahu will have no qualms in striking Iran preemptively. At that point the US will have to get involved. With or without the UN. Then all hell's breaking loose.

I'd like to offer an opposing view of Mr. Netanyahu.
As an Israeli born Jew,I can attest to the fact that Mr. Netanyahu is Not the "end all" for All Israeli's. Quite the contrary(as witnessed by his Rejection by our citizens in years past) !
In my opinion, Mr Netanyahu could be compared to (the US's) Mr. Cheney. For what I've know of Mr. Cheney, having studied him for the last eight years, he too(like Mr. Netanyahu, or Mr. McCain), are Hard core Neocons and are known for having an itchy trigger finger. (hardly the Perfect man for the job)
In contrast, I'd feel More secure with the likes of a Senator. Richard Lugar, or Senator Richard Shelby, and certainly Vice President Joseph Biden.

I like your semi-articulate style.............do we have another dual identity?

I can't bear to wait....... 😱

I'd feel more comfortable with an itchy trigger finger than an appeasing set of politicians sucking up to a regime whose sole intent is to detonate over Israel.

It's all about survival of a nation.

Your point about security for Israel is Very well taken(please Trust me on that), however as I mentioned earlier, Not all Israeli's share Mr. Netanyahu's "enthusiasm", as evident of his removal from office before, and his far from sweeping victory in the recent election. Similiar I suppose, as to the Majority of Americans who wanted George Bush and Dick Cheney like politicians(John McCain) to no longer occupy the White House.

Obama’s New Intel Chief Is Anti-Israel And Pro-Hamas

Link
A flurry of reports over the weekend said that the former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia, considered a sharp critic of Israel, is to be named to a top intelligence post in the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama.

Freeman also is a strong advocate of talking to Hamas, which he says “is the only democratically-elected government in the Arab world.â€￾ In his speech, Freeman said that “Hamas is showing that if we offer it nothing but unreasoning hostility and condemnation, it will only stiffen its position and seek allies among our enemies. In both cases, we forfeit our influence for no gain.â€￾

Which will be even more the reason Bibi goes 'hot pickles' w/o US support.

Long live Israel!
